Right Side News reports from the Office of Border Patrol:
Border Patrol agents seized over 8,754 pounds of marijuana valued at $7,003,176 and over 17 pounds of heroin valued at $1,405,300. Agents arrested 14 criminal aliens and 11 gang members. There were 10 rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 17.57 pounds of heroin valued at $1,405,300, 1.47 pounds of methamphetamine valued at $35,186, a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and arrested a national of Mexico at the Highway 86 traffic checkpoint near Westmoreland, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle, and a search revealed the narcotics concealed in an aftermarket compartment inside of the intake manifold.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,318 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,054,400, a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) near Mercedes, Texas. Agents followed a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver of the Tahoe lost control and struck a fence. A search of the vehicle revealed 16 bundles of marijuana inside.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was previously removed from the United States on two occasions, and was convicted of sexual offenses against a child in the State of Iowa.

Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued two USCs after their boat experienced engine failure and became stranded near Yuma, Arizona. Agents pulled both individuals and the boat to safety. There were no reported injuries.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 5,479 pounds of marijuana valued at $4,383,200, a 2006 Volvo tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself and the tractor-trailer for inspection, and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the tractor-trailer. A search of the trailer revealed 154 bundles of marijuana concealed inside six wooden crates.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized a 1985 Ford Mercury, four hunting rifles with scopes, a 12-gauge shotgun, a single scope, and 360 rounds of ammunition near the Rio Grande River in Los Ebanos, Texas. Agents observed a vehicle traveling south toward the river and later discovered it abandoned near the riverbank. A search of the vehicle yielded negative results; however, agents found the weapons and ammunition near the vehicle.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Topawa, Arizona. Agents located and rescued the subject after he placed a distress call. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he received medical treatment. Records checks revealed the subject has an outstanding warrant for sexual assault issued in the State of Florida.

Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Eagle Pass, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the 18th Street gang. Records checks revealed he had previous convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents reported that several unidentified individuals on the U.S. side of the international border assaulted them with rocks near Calexico, California. The agents deployed their Pepperball Launching System and the individuals absconded into Mexico without further incident.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents found an unconscious illegal alien from Mexico by a drainage tube in Nogales, Arizona. The subject was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Records checks revealed he was previously deported as an aggravated felon.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. Both subjects admitted to having served time in prison and being members of the Paisa gang. Both had also been previously deported.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,367 pounds of marijuana valued at $1,093,600, a 2000 Freightliner tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer and a search revealed the marijuana commingled with vegetables.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a national of Turkey and seized a 1996 Ford Mustang at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and was referred to secondary after he failed to produce immigration documents. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous counterfeit documents. Records checks revealed the subject was wanted for organized fraud in the State of Florida.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Casa Grande, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject is a convicted sex offender and was previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was convicted for sex with a minor in the State of California, and was previously removed from the United States as an aggravated felon.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 25 pounds of marijuana valued at $20,040, four rifles, one pistol, 222 rounds of ammunition, and communications equipment near Nogales, Arizona. Air assets were involved in a search for suspected illegal aliens when one subject was observed with a rifle. Agents deployed to the area and subsequently located the abandoned weapons and contraband.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – A Border Patrol agent arrested an illegal alien from Nepal near Brownsville, Texas. The subject resisted arrest and physically assaulted the agent. The agent deployed his Service issued Collapsible Straight Baton and subdued the subject, who was taken into custody.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico, seized approximately 200 pounds of marijuana, and a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro near Sasabe, Arizona. The subject was encountered when agents discovered the Camaro at the scene of a single-vehicle accident. The subject was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and subsequently released into the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Albuquerque, New Mexico. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Mara Salvatrucha gang member. Records checks also revealed he had an extensive criminal history and was previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. One subject had an extensive criminal history and claimed to be a member of the Paisa gang. The other subject had served three years in prison for a drug conviction and claimed to be a member of the Aguados motorcycle gang.

El Paso Sector – A Border Patrol agent was attempting to arrest a group of illegal aliens when one threw a large rock at him near Lordsburg, New Mexico. As agents searched for the subject, arrested four illegal aliens from Mexico, and seized 365 pounds of marijuana valued at $291,936.

Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued two USCs from the Colorado River near Winterhaven, California. The individuals were in distress and unable to swim to shore.

El Paso Sector – A Border Patrol agent was assaulted by a USC after she presented herself for inspection at the checkpoint near Las Cruces, New Mexico. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the subject’s vehicle and she refused agent’s commands to exit the vehicle. The subject was extracted from her vehicle, became combative, and assaulted an agent.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued six illegal aliens after they became lost in the desert near Ajo, Arizona. One of the individuals required medical attention and was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released back into the custody of the agents.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued eight illegal aliens near Pisinimo, Arizona. The individuals were in distress and placed a 911 call after they became lost in the desert. Agents successfully located the individuals, and there were no reported injuries.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Arivaca, Arizona. Records checks revealed that the subject had a previous conviction for sexual assault-sodomy and was previously removed from the United States as an aggravat
