There is some interesting calls here by what appears to be, less religious Muslims to their more devout brethren begging them to stop throwing stones at the police during compulsory Muslim riots after some of them caught a glimpse of Kurt Westergaard’s famous ‘MoToon’.

Of course, it might really just be a difference in tactics and strategy. The Salafists enjoy using blunt force and traditional Islamic diplomacy such as throwing rocks and other heavy objects prepared in advance for such occasions.

In March 2011, while many of the arms depots belonging to the government of Libya were being looted, we wrote about how the weapons taken from Libyan government stockpiles could end up being used to fuel violence in the region and beyond. Since then, we have seen Tuareg militants, who were previously employed by the regime of former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, leave Libya with sizable stockpiles of weapons and return to their homes in northern Mali, where they have successfully wrested control of the region away from the Malian government.

Since Ahmadinejad was elected president in August 2005, Iran has extended and solidified its relations with several Latin American countries, especially Venezuela and Bolivia, and increased its efforts to obtain a political foothold in the others. According to findings brought before the American Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Iran has significantly increased its diplomatic representation in Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil. It was also reported that since 2005 Iran has increased the number of its embassies in Latin America from five to 11, and set up 17 "cultural centers" as well.²

The war on Christianity and its adherents rages on in the Muslim world. In March alone, Saudi Arabia's highest Islamic law authority decreed that churches in the region must be destroyed; jihadis in Nigeria said they "are going to put into action new efforts to strike fear into the Christians of the power of Islam by kidnapping their women"; American teachers in the Middle East were murdered for being or talking about Christianity; churches were banned or bombed, and nuns terrorized by knife-wielding Muslim mobs. Christians continue to be attacked, arrested, imprisoned, and killed for allegedly "blaspheming" Islam's prophet Muhammad; former Muslims continue to be attacked, arrested, imprisoned, and killed for converting to Christianity.

The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, released a message April 23 informing U.S. citizens in the country that it had received credible information regarding a possible attack against Nairobi hotels or prominent Kenyan government buildings. According to the message, the embassy has reason to believe the attack is in the last stages of the attack planning cycle.

The Center for Security Policy, under security analyst Frank Gaffney’s bold and thoughtful leadership, is launching a 10-part, web-based video course (key findings summarized here), today, April 24, 2012,  entitled, “The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within.”

Today , appropriately, also marks the 97th anniversary of the date officially commemorated as the start of the Armenian Genocide—a jihad genocide—April 24, 1915. Persistent jihad denial by U.S. policymaking elites across the intervening century—a mindset so egregiously delusive at present it reflects mindslaughter—is the tragic, shared living legacy of these superficially disparate, but intimately related phenomena, both animated by canonical Islam.
