Chinese Inflation - the Final Unraveling? Print E-mail

Chinese-money-web The Daily Bell

In its latest quarterly survey, the People's Bank of China (PBOC), the country's central bank, said that 51% of respondents were unhappy about inflation, the highest proportion since the survey began in 1999. In February, China's consumer prices rose by 2.7% year-on-year, up from a 1.5% rise in January. The government has set a 3% target for inflation this year, but some analysts have said the true inflation rate is already far higher, after an enormous increase in money supply last year. In February, Chinese broad money rose by 25.5%, well ahead of the government's 17% target for the year. Analysts said that for the government to hit its target, it must now slow M2 money supply to 11.6% for the remaining 10 months of the year, a sudden deceleration and well below the country's average in the past decade. The PBOC's quarterly survey, which was published in the official China Securities Journal, also showed that the public expects inflation to continue rising next quarter. With food prices, in particular, rising rapidly, the government pledged today (tuesday) to start price controls on pork products. Inflation in China is now outstripping the interest rate on bank deposits and property prices, which are not accounted for in the CPI, have risen rapidly in China's cities. - UK Telegraph

Why America Needs Government Health Care Right Now Print E-mail
Written by Dr. Morder Krankenhaus

mad_scientistAmerica is suffering from a most tragic health care epidemic. An epidemic that can be tracked to its reliance on an old and inefficient system of patients paying to see doctors when they get sick. This at a time when every advanced nation such as Cuba and England, has adopted a program in which patients pay all the time and there are no doctors to go to when they get sick. Under this advanced modern system, no one can possibly complain of unfair access to health care because no one has access to health care unless they wait for three days while strapped to a dirty bed in a hospital corridor. Unless they have enough contraband money to afford a plane ticket to America (tfui).

Is Employer Health Insurance Dying? Part II Print E-mail
Written by Stephen Hyde - HydeOnHealthCare.com

Stephen_HydeOne of President Obama's most frequent health reform mantras is, "If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan."  This is consistent with his belief that we "must build on the current employer-based system" that insures 158 million people who comprise the vast bulk of all privately insured Americans. There is just one problem with this approach: employer-provided group insurance is dying and cannot be saved.

"I Won" Print E-mail

In the end everything we ever needed to know about Obama could have been gleaned from his two word reply to a Republican Senator who objected to Obama's disastrous economic stimulus plan. "I Won." And of course Obama won the battle and lost the war. The economic stimulus plan passed but was widely considered unpopular and a failure. It played a big part in the public perception of a wasteful government tossing around money with no real results. But Obama is still wedded to the "win".

Boccieri, Altmire, Gordon and Baird Switch to Yes on Obamacare Print E-mail

Democratic Majority Whip James Clyburn is reporting that four Democratic Congressmen that were no votes on the healtcare bill have now switched to a yes vote.

We need you to flood their offices with phone calls, faxes and if local, go by their offices. Especially target Rep. Altmire from Pennsylvannia.

This should be a sign that we need to continue to pound hard with phones calls, faxes and visits to all the targets. We need to keep the pressure up and not let up.

Rep. John Boccieri, Ohio, 16th
