The media has told us what the Navy's top admiral, Mike Mullen, thinks about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"; but why is the media censoring other, contrary military voices?

Regardless of whether you are for or against open homosexuality in the military, you have to be dismayed at how badly biased media coverage of this issue has become. Indeed, it seems that, to the Big Media, there is only one legitimate and morally correct point of view, and that is to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," and to allow gays to serve openly within the ranks.

While President Barack Obama watches his so-called national security team become politicized and partisan, some Democrats are attempting to put out the flames of discontent with gasoline by sending a letter yesterday to the President endorsing civilian court trials for suspected terrorists.

The key signatory of the letter urging Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder to stick to their proverbial guns is none other than Senator Patrick Leahy, the chairman of the U.S. Senate's powerful Judiciary Committee.

"Our system of justice is strong enough to prosecute the people who have attacked us," said the Senator known to many in the law enforcement and intelligence communties as "Leaky" Leahy.

A group of Muslim scholars says it supports airline safety, but it is "deeply concerned" about the use of airport scanners that show nude images of the human body.

"The Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) emphasizes that a general and public use of such scanners is against the teachings of Islam, natural law and all religions and cultures that stand for decency and modesty," the group said in a Feb. 10 statement posted at Islam Online.

Shortly after proclaiming that her husband "has done a phenomenal job" Michelle Obama declared that child obesity is a threat to national security, indicating that perhaps the First Lady is bemused. 

It's hardly the first time that a president's wife makes ridiculous statements in public (remember Hillary Clinton's "vast right-wing conspiracy") but this double-whammy just a day apart seems extra bizarre from a highly educated former executive with a prestigious Ivy League law degree.
