On Feb. 18, 2010, Joseph Andrew Stack flew his single-engine airplane into a seven-story office building in northwest Austin, Texas. The building housed an office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), along with several other tenants. According to a statement he posted to the Internet before taking off on his suicide flight, Stack intentionally targeted the IRS due to a long history of problems he had had with the agency. In the statement, Stack said he hoped that his action would cause "American zombies to wake up and revolt" against the government. Stack also expressed his hope that his message of violence would be one the government could not ignore.

The news has it today that young Mr. James O'Keefe and Andrew Breitbart have laid low ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. ACORN is dissolved, they say.
Don't believe a word of it. Yes, it is obvious that ACORN was materially hurt by the expose showing its propensity towards criminality. But the organization is not dead. It it merely rebranding.

Obama Islam Envoy A Lying Terrorist Defender |

The Obama Administration lied to cover up that its special Islam envoy has close ties to radical extremist groups and that he condemns the U.S. government's prosecutions of renowned terrorists as "politically motivated persecutions."
In his ongoing effort to repair relations with the Islamic world, Obama assigned a White House deputy counsel (Rashad Hussain) with known ties to individuals and groups that support jihad as the nation's envoy to Islam. The Ivy-league educated attorney has a documented history of participating in and supporting events connected with the terrorism-sponsoring Muslim Brotherhood and advocating for the admitted head of a Palestinian jihad organization.

The following is an expanded version of an address I was asked to present recently. The subject is "radical", in the sense that it digs down to the roots of the problem. But for that very reason it needs airing. Therefore, I put it out here for general consumption, and perhaps consternation. Please add it to the "I told you so" folder in your "favorites" list.
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, a certain nation was one of the richest countries in the world. [World War II] had left it a creditor nation; it was owed * * * billion[s of] dollars by Britain alone. The derelict state of the European economies gave [this country] an assured market for its exports, while making it difficult to import much from Europe, thus enabling th[is] country to protect its own * * * industries. After the neglect of the thirties there was money for public spending and the country was * * * absorbing a flow of immigrants * * * [who] were not illiterate and unskilled, but scientists, skilled workers, intellectuals.

Can We Defeat Terrorists without Defeating Terrorism? |

"We are not waging a war against terrorism because terrorism is but a tactic that will never be defeated, any more than a tactics of war will. Rather, such thinking is a recipe for endless conflict. ... We are at war with Al Qaeda and its extremist allies, and any comment to the contrary is just inaccurate." John Brennan, Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism
Now there's an obvious paradox in a man whose own post is defined by counterterrorism, arguing that terrorism can never be defeated. Back when the USSR forged its pact with Nazi Germany, the Soviet propaganda machine propounded that they were not at war with "fascism", as "isms" could not be defeated. Similar defeatist arguments were used by Western governments to argue that Communism was another "ism" and Isms could not be defeated.
