Newark, N.J. New Jersey residents may be pardoned for thinking that an admired religious leader and devout man of peace is being persecuted by bigoted government agents in their state.
That certainly is how much of the local media has chosen to portray the ongoing trial of Mohammed Qatanani, an imam at of one of New Jerseys largest and most controversial mosques, the Islamic Center of Passaic County (ICPC).

ICE Fugitive Operations Teams make 1,808 arrests in six states during month-long cooperative enforcement effort
WASHINGTON - More than 1,800 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives, and immigration violators have been removed from the United States or are facing deportation today following a month-long enforcement effort which partnered neighboring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Fugitive Operations Teams to make arrests in six states.

More than 900 Arrested in ICE California Surge
May 23, 2008 (Los Angeles, Calif.) - More than 900 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives and immigration violators have been removed from the United States or are facing deportation following a three-week enforcement surge by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Fugitive Operations Teams in California. ICE officers located and arrested a total of 905 immigration violators throughout the state, including 327 in the greater Los Angeles area. Of those arrested locally, 244 were immigration fugitives. The latest audio message from al-Qaeda, reportedly from Osama bin Laden himself, is only the most recent confirmation that the jihadist threat to the West remains real and deadly serious. But the fact that it could take the form of nuclear terrorism should be most worrying to citizens and policy makers alike.
Where a nuclear attack once may have been beyond the capacities of stateless terrorists, that is no longer the case. One need only consider Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM), mastermind of 9/11 and chief operating officer of al-Qaeda, who revealed under intensive interrogation -- including the much-maligned tactic of waterboarding -- that a nuclear attack against the United States was a top priority for al-Qaeda
