The Senate is about to act on the nomination of militant leftist Dawn Johnsen to be the chief of the U.S. government's elite legal team. But that post is a stepping-stone for top judicial offices, including the Supreme Court itself. That's likely Barack Obama's plans for Johnsen, and it's why she must be stopped now.

Ultra-liberal activist Dawn Johnsen, currently a professor at Indiana University School of Law, is President Obama's nominee to be assistant attorney general in charge of the Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). As the OLC chief, Johnsen would shape the legal positions of the Obama administration on every issue.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has approved a request "to add Al-Jazeera English (AJE) to the list of television satellite services for distribution in Canada. Supporters of the Arab government-funded propaganda channel hope that acceptance in Canada will lead to more cable and satellite carriers in the U.S. picking up the incendiary network."

A group called "Canadians for Al-Jazeera" organized public pressure on the CRTC to approve the entry of AJE into the Canadian media market. Although the group's leader, Walied Khogali, is described in news reports as a Canadian, he identifies himself on his Facebook page as a fan of Barack and Michelle Obama, Students for Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.

Condemnation of the United States' Middle East policy.

Vicious attacks on Israel as a racist, genocidal apartheid state.

Justifications for terrorism and defenses of its perpetrators.

These have been the stock in trade of policy statements by the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) over the years.

Many of those statements, detailed in the second installment of a new report by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), appeared in the pages of The Minaret, a now-defunct monthly magazine affiliated with the Islamic Center of Southern California (ICSC).

UTAPAO, Thailand (NNS) -- Sailors from the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ESX ARG) worked with Marines of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), as well as Sailors and Marines from the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Korea (ROK), as dozens of landing crafts and hundreds of Marines from all three nations hit Hat Klod Beach in Utapao, Thailand, during a simulated amphibious assault Feb. 4.

The simulated amphibious assault was part of exercise Cobra Gold 2010 (CG 10).
