The term "Judeo-Christian" refers to Christians with an appreciation for their religious roots in Judaism, and the values derived from both the New and Old Testaments. The term "Judeo-Christian" does not refer to modern Jews, except for those who share the values of Judeo-Christians. Jewish theology is different from Christian theology; however, there is often a shared set of Judeo-Christian values - a set of values which can be shared by Christians and Jews even when the two theologies diverge.

Stop shooting yourself in the foot with religious excess

I wish your argument was stronger. America would be in much better shape if your arguments were sharper. Yet, you shoot yourselves in the foot.

The first thing I noticed was that a quick search of the phrase "Judeo-Christian" shows that George Washington, wisely, never included that phrase in his proclamation while you, unwisely, "assume" the prefix to falsely presume an impossible union of Judeo- (pro-Torah) with Christian (supersessionist and displacement antinomian=anti-Torah).

You invite derision by such obvious manipulation; and by encouraging investigation into 18th century history while blissfully ignoring 2nd-4th century history (for which, see the History Museum pages of www.netzarim.co.il).

It's reasonably clear to most that the founders of America were primarily Christians. Be content with that and stifle your greed to lay false claim to Judaism along with it. The history of the original Christian church of 135 C.E. was indisputably antinomian, and even viciously misojudaic (see Oxford historian James Parkes, The Conflict of the Church and the Synagogue). The 10 Commandments are an indivisible whole. Rejecting any one constitutes rejecting of the whole… and the Church rejected the 10 Commandments when it revoked #4 (and shredded #1-3 as well).

Greed to claim supersession over, and displacement of Judaism introduces self-contradictions that only neuter your own arguments.

If you were as wise as Washington, you'd use his inclusive language instead of injecting your Christian agenda… and you'd be far more effective. Stop shooting yourself in the foot. Your religious greed and resulting fecklessness is enabling the postmodernists to disassemble and destroy America. Religion must be free to all in private and imposed on no one in public. - Renovator
