There are 1 billion Muslims- about 1/3 of humanity. What regions and which sects of Islam are you talking about specifically? Perhaps political or social stresses might correlate to certain behaviors better than religion? If you are only talking about what happened centuries ago, that has about as much relevance as the crusades or the inquisition does to today's Christianity (which perhaps is relevant). Two questions- where does that number come from, and why have you omitted a comparison to other religions, races, and other similar reasons for intolerance or genocide. For instance, would the USA have started these illegal wars in the way we did- killing 2 million recently in Iraq/Afghanistan, if those had been European Christian countries? If so, could you say they were basically killed for not converting to Christianity? Speaking as a non-Muslim, Islamophobia or paranoid bigotry toward an incredible 1/3 of all humans, especially considering all we have done AGAINST Muslims in the last 50 years, is just the kind of stupidity that would start Armageddon. Oh no! Violence in the Koran! It's not the fact we have been warring on Muslims for 50 years, or the fact a republican, Reagan supported Saddam and Bin Laden, or the fact Muslims live in the worst, most dangerous conditions in the world, no- IT'S THE EVIL KORAN!!, which is so unlike our bible in it's precedent for violence... right. But we started two huge civil wars and killed about 2 million so far- far more than any Muslim extremists ever will, despite "thou shalt not kill", we justify our wars with bibles and Christianity, making us massive hypocrites. So- You think Muslims really want to run this huge nightmare government? Run our schools and churches? Maybe we should let them! Maybe they are just fighting for self-preservation. We imposed our ideas when settling this country, maybe it's time to let someone else have a go at it. If they can really do all that and hold it together, let 'em. Ummmm... women are respected? Not that I've seen! The Quran says it's okay for a man to beat his wife about the head. I have muslim women friends, and they would never say they are not treated right, but one only has to be in the home for an hour before they see the woman's husband go off on her for not folding his clothes right, or something equally rediculous. - truth1835

First off, any statement making the Koran to not be a book of violence is 100% false.
