Politifact gets away with declaring that true statements are false by means of concatenation. They take a fact and add to it a falsehood, and then restate the entire sentence, verbatim, as if it were a literal statement made by a group they don't like, such as conservatives and the GOP. Here's how they mispresent the "fact" that Obama IS a Muslim: [i]Anonymous chain emails are still spreading the lie that Obama is a "covert" Muslim and his middle name is "Muhammad"[/i] I seriously doubt that there ever was any real effort to convince people that Obama's middle name is "Muhammad." After doing a lot of researching, I never found any known source for this "rumor" and I'd bet that the Obama folks are the source. But, you can readily see how Politifact gets to label a truism as a "rumor" by attaching a falsehood to it. It would be like someone saying that the following statement is a lie: "Politfact was overtly biased in Obama's favor throughout the 2008 Campaign and they received large donations from the socialist billionaire, George Soros." The first part BEFORE the "and" is entirely true. The second part would also be true if it had Obama as the recipient of Soros's money.
