It seems everyone is now a lawyer, free to speculate, accuse, and pick apart the affidavit to suit their agenda.
No where does it state that the president elect advisor who is thought to be Emanuel, agreed to these terms. To claim Obama lied is incredulous, he said HE did not have contact with Blagojevich. He also stated that he is confident that no one from his staff was involved in any deal making. That does not imply that his staff did not have conversations with the governor's office about the vacant senate seat. It is normal that Obama would be concerned about the person who would fill his previous elected office. I suggest that all of you who are speculating and jumping to conclusions allow the prosecutors do the job they were hired to do. If Obama or any member of his team was involved with this scandal in any fashion, I am confident Fitzgerald will ensure that justice is served. Until then, it would be in everyone's best interest to wait for all the facts of case to be revealed, otherwise you may end up eating crow... - Noneya

Emanuel "did nothing wrong" and is "not a target" according to a private briefing by the D.A. on Friday. Additionally, if said scheme was ever proposed to him, all he would have to do is go to the FBI and Blago would be in so much trouble that the Senate appointment would be the last thing on his mind. No, Emanuel's not talking to the press because his boss wants to do this his way and has instructed all of his staff not to talk. Lawyer and Constitutional scholar that he is, he wants to be very careful with what he says about an ongoing criminal investigation. He also doesn't see the urgency since Blago's words cleared them of trying to make a deal for the Senate seat. - lottie
