To clarify Mike's stance on 4 wheel drive cars- he is from the UK where unfortunately owning any kind of decent sized car, house, boat etc is considered an arrogant display of wealth.
My wifes car is 4x4- mine gets about 12MPG but it's 2 wheele drive- so I'm cool! 8) - Steve (selfish arrogant nutter 4x4 driver)

Science is a disciplined method- it does not belong to any particular institution- and certainly not a political one. A consensus among government 'climatologists' on climate change- is as convincing as a consensus among paranormal investigators on the existence of ghosts. Real science involves accurate measurement, reliable experimentation with outcome prediction etc. and does not adhere to any political ideology. This theory is about the politics of the 'solution' not the science of the problem. - Steve (selfish arrogant nutter 4x4 driver)

I agree completely that the theory of AGW is not true and is a ruse to tax us on the air that we breathe.
In fact it is a way of the powers that be to licence the weather to us which is as preposterous as it sounds but nevertheless true.
Water vapour is the main greenhouse gas plain and simple - the natural variation in water vapour negates any effects that co2 impact may have and according to many sources there is a ceiling to the effects of co2 anyway!
Add to this that during the Paleozoic and mesozoic periods co2 content was several thousand PPM and has steadily decreased in an almost linear fashion to present where climate is more stable than it has ever been.
If co2 was able to cause a runaway feedback mechanism then it would have done so rather than declining to present day levels and one should not that temperature has remained stable throughout these periods except for ice ages.
Any rebuttals to these simple facts are just rhetoric - people like to think of themselves as scientifically minded and always find some weak angle to find a human connection and these AGW theories are so convoluted and twisted that I am convinced that these warmist theorists are on some form of drugs!!
Re: your notion that fossil fuels are going to be running out some time this century - you might possibly enjoy a book by Professor Thomas Gold called "the deep hot biosphere" which is a most interesting read and throws many geological theories out on their head. The logic is irrefutable and I have heard no convincing arguments that really stand up to what he and most Ukrainian/Russians scientists have long established as fact.
May we all continue to learn. - Peter Hastern

I wish global warming wer true but it isn't

I'm one of those people that think anyone driving a 4x4 is a selfish arrogant nutter. I'm one of those people who think we consume far too much of the natural resources of the world and that we should "save the rainforest".

So I ought to be a firm believer in global warming, except I'm too honest. I looked at the science behind and was disgusted to find their was virtually none. I looked at the temperature record and realised there was nothing to destinguish it from noise. I looked at the alarmism about floods, pestulance, even earthquakes and volcanoes and I realised tha many of these climate zealots were just religious nutters.

The evidence is very clear. The world warmed up until around 1998, we were right to be concerened, but not alarmed, and now since 1998 the temperature was at first stable and is now cooling. It is well below the lowest predicted temperature of the IPCC. The IPCC made a predictation of global temperature in 2001, they gave a minimum and maximum range, the temperature is well below the minimum with no sign of warming in the near future. The prediction is clearly false and it is about time the IPCC admitted their mistake!

Does this mean we should stop spending on renewables? NO! Oil and gas will be running out sometime this century. We have no viable atlernative energy source at the moment, and to be honest I personally would spend an order of magnitude more money on renewables otherwise there's not a cat in hell's chance those 4x4 drivers will be able to drive at all! - Mike Haseler
