This is a competitive world, and if a company has to hire someone by 75 000 annually, will tilt the most valuable professional, whether American or foreign. If the Americans are well trained professionally, because they fear this law, as companies are turning to them! Or prefer that American companies are obliged to hire only Americans regardless of which have foreign professionals with many more skills? I think that if against the U.S. economy. - pantera

Who indeed?

Because at a time when we're facing the greatest collapse of our financial institutions, the highest rate of foreclosures and rising unemployment rates since the Great Depression, it is absolutely unbelievable our "leaders" would take steps to import more foreign workers.

If Congress has some "do something before the elections" mandate then do something to put AMERICANS back to work!

This is a national outrage! - One Old Vet

The "recapture" scheme maintains Sen. Kennedy's formula, but adds a provision that essentially counts the "unused" visas twice (once to roll over into the other category and once to add that number again to the existing category). Therefore, the authors of the new bill aren't "recapturing" anything; they are simply increasing the number of permanent foreign workers plus their families who are admitted to the U.S. every year. BAD BILL
The House Judiciary Committee is voting on three immigration bills today! Meanwhile, E-Verify is still being held hostage in the Senate. use the links aboveand make some phone calls--defeat the bad bills and make good ones for pantera.. - J Bayard

It's incorrect when you told about add 500 000 work visas in EEUU, because is a recapture of waste visa along years due to ineficient processing in USCIS. Is incorrect to harm american workers because this 500 000 peoples who beneficiate with this bill actually are working in EEUU ! This bill will expedite the emision of green card only. And FYI, the sallary of these people is the sallary predominant in your areas, isn't cheap.
Thanks. - pantera
