Well, Obama has been given a free ride. No tough questions. No criticism. He's "the chosen one" so why question anything about him?

And this world has been full of despots that were once allies. You have to deal with the leaders that are in place at the time you are in power. It's messy and unsavory but that's what you have to deal with.

Japan was an enemy that is now an ally. Russia was an ally that turned into an enemy. The Chinese communist government is a huge threat to us and their own citizenry - hopefully we, the USA, can promote change for the better.

Sebastian, I think you just want to assign evil agendas to any Republican leader when they were doing what they thought was right at the time - in the best interests of our nation. If they could have forseen the future, they would have made different choices. But that can be said of most things.

If elected, Obama would be the first President of the United States that would have a personal agenda that goes against the best interests of the USA. - Jim

Ha ha ha haaa! And one more...HA! This is hilarious. Who vetted Obama? The American people did and they elected him to the Senate. Then they nominated him to run for President and soon they'll nominate him to BE President. The Daily Kos did dig into Palin's past, but never made the claim the baby was not Palin's. Kos said there is a rumor about it and tells us what the rumor is. As a matter of fact, Kos says,

"Okay, I just have to diary about this, although in many ways this falls into the 'none of our business category'."

You're really going to make the Argument that Obama hasn't been vetted because he's met or known people that YOU label as terrorists? I think the American people are getting tired of that old card now and they see through it.

You're lucky this article doesn't cause them to wonder, "Who vetted George W. Bush?" They've seen too many videos and photos of Bush and his cabinet meeting and greeting and hugging and shaking hands with and holding hands with and kissing the cheeks of and giving millions of US dollars to the likes of Saddam Hussein, Ahmed Chalabi, and King Abdullah. Chalabi was even invited to be a special guest at the President's State of the Union speech for crying out loud and sat right behind the first lady. Abdullah was invited out to the "Ranch" in Crawford! The American people are slowly finding out that from 1996 to 1992 the US (under Reagan and Bush #1) gave Saddam Hussein WMD (when Rumsfeld was photographed shaking his hand), and when he used those WMD on his own people, we happily provided more. The American people are getting too smart for the Republican Party and their hypocritical nonsense attacks on common sense. Only the die-hard power / money hungry will stay -- along with those they can still convince (through fear, guilt, or ignorance) to vote for them.

I got nothing against Palin if she faked a pregnancy for her kid's sake or cheated on her husband (as the latest Inquirer report indicates and Hey! They turned out to be right about John Edwards), or that her 17 year old daughter got pregnant out of wed-lock. I don't think things like this would affect her ability to be a great leader if she needed to be. There are people all over the US who have done similar (or worse) things or been in similar situations. I have a problem with them attacking others and passing judgment on those who have been in similar situations, much like your ridiculous article is trying to do here.

Try to keep up with me here, Clifford. It's obvious you're in a panic and grasping as straws and it doesn't help the Republican Party at all because people are starting to see through it. They are tired of being duped and listening to politicians that have nothing to do with them and have no idea what a day in the life of a real American citizen is.

The truth is, the McCain campaign picked Palin in haste, thinking she was a fantastic political tool that would grab females who were on the fence with McCain after wanting Clinton to win the nomination so badly. It was a stupid gamble and maybe it will pay off a bit. So, because they saw her as a tool and not a person, they didn't bother looking too far into her personal life. Some issues about Palin are starting to surface. 99% of what is surfacing makes no darn difference to the American people and who they want as a President or Vice President except that the Republican Party has tried so hard to make it a difference regarding the Democratic Party in the past.

Just as the Republican Party has accepted that going into Iraq was a stupid move and are now trying to shift the focus on the so-called "surge", you have realized Palin was a mistake for McCain and you're attempting to turn the gigantic not-so-all-seeing eye of the populous on Obama. I want to say, "Nice try" but it's just so weak of a try that I can't get the words out of my mouth without at least giggling.

So, the lesson is you reap what you sow! (That's from the Bible by the way). As the Republicans have been so quick to exclaim to the American people who have been falling on hard times since Bush took office, deal with it and quick your whining. - Sebastian
