White House Council Takes Aim on Rural America

E-mail Print PDF

RenewAmerica

Where, exactly, does the U.S. Constitution authorize the federal government to create "sustainable communities" in order to:

"... expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands."

Clearly, the Constitution provides no such authority, and the Tenth Amendment prohibits the federal government from engaging in activity not explicitly enumerated and authorized in the Constitution. This fact meant nothing to Bill Clinton, who created the President's Council on Sustainable Development by executive order. Nor does this fact have meaning to Barack Hussein Obama. On June 9, 2011, by Executive Order 13575, Obama created the White House Rural Council.

How Destructively Disingenuous Can They Get?

E-mail Print PDF

As if the American public’s tolerance for political chicanery hasn’t been tested beyond the breaking point, now comes news that several shyster Progressives and Democrats are floating the notion that the debt ceiling is – get this – unconstitutional. Far be it from me to ask, but why is it the only time Progressives and Democrats concern themselves with the constitutionality of issues is when its concern their ability to spend money?

Happy 4th - What Happened to E Pluribus Unum?

E-mail Print PDF

In my search to write something worthy of the 2011 Independence Day celebration, at a time in history when the communist left is totally unified against the remaining and totally divided so-called “independent thinkers” who refer to themselves as “patriots,” my love for the concept of E Pluribus Unum came to mind… a term few “patriots” seem to have ever heard before.

The term E Pluribus Unum dates back to the founding of our once great nation. It was a very simple concept, a Latin term chosen by our Founding Fathers as the official National Motto for the newly formed United States of America, which translates in English to – “Out of many, one.”

Welfare Ripoff Story

E-mail Print PDF

Here's one story (true) about entitlements and welfare, of which I am intimately familiar. For the sake of protecting identity, we'll call him Billie.

Billie was 19 years old in 1979 when he had formed a teenage history of aberrant behavior, including the use and selling of drugs, skipping school, etc., but no violence toward others.

His father took him to a psychiatrist who diagnosed him as a manic-depressive, prescribing more drugs that put Billie into a near stupor. That lasted a few months. Billie spent a few days in jail now and then for stealing, but always had someone intervening to help him out.

Media Deceptions Support Obama Against Israel

E-mail Print PDF

President Obama’s Middle East policies continue to unravel as he pursues a dangerous and duplicitous policy. It may have worked while he was getting elected the first time as President, but evidence of failure is everywhere, as the Arab Spring turns into a frenzied death spiral where the winners, to the extent there are any, are radical Islamists including Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and in Turkey, a re-election of the Erdogan government with growing ties to Iran. In Libya the U.S. and NATO are caught up in a quagmire that was supposed to involve heavy U.S. involvement for “days not weeks,” followed by a supporting role only. According to President Obama, who never sought Congressional approval under the War Powers Act, the mission was to protect civilians and enforce an arms embargo. It has now shifted to heavy bombing of Col. Moammar Gaddafi’s compound with the clear intent to kill him or drive him out, precisely what Obama said the mission was not about. And the U.S. has continued an active role in the bombing campaign.

An Open Letter to Alice Walker and Her Fellow Flotilla Travelers

E-mail Print PDF

You recently wrote an essay, “Why I’m Sailing to Gaza,” in which you tried to defend the indefensible; namely, your intention to violate international law by attempting to penetrate Israel’s legal blockade of Gaza, purportedly for the purpose of delivering aid to the suffering Gazans—although in this case the aid was only a cache of letters of solidarity and the true purpose of your voyage is a misguided, self-aggrandizing incitement designed to ultimately reflect badly on Israel.

American Revolutionary War Museum to Honor Al-Jazeera

E-mail Print PDF

The General Henry Knox Museum is honoring a representative of Al-Jazeera, the channel associated with various terrorist organizations, on July 28 on the stage of The Strand Theatre in Rockland, Maine. The museum says that an intimate Gala dinner and reception will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Camden National Bank’s historic Spear Block location in Rockland.

Knox played a significant role in the American war for independence from Britain and was close to General George Washington.

The idea of an American museum devoted to patriotism honoring a representative of a foreign-funded channel, described by Middle East experts such as Walid Phares as “Jihad television,” is not going down well in Maine and across the country. The most visible public face of Al-Jazeera Arabic is the anti-Semitic cleric, Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who approved suicide bombings against Israeli civilians and American military personnel in Iraq.
