From this AP story about the devout Muslim, execution-style murderer of US soldiers and civilian personnel at Fort Hood, Nidal Malik Hassan, surviving erstwhile "martyr":

At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades. They had not determined for certain whether Hasan is the author of the posting, and a formal investigation had not been opened before the shooting, said law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case.

The BBC is reporting that the mass killing of American soldiers by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan at Ft. Hood was caused by racism in the U.S. Army. The New York Times' headline was "Suspect Was 'Mortified' About Deployment to War."

Pelosi dropped her bill (H.R. 3962) just last week and expects legislators to have read, absorbed and understood the 1,990 pages of legalese in it.

Pro-Life legislators have zeroed in on sections in the bill that will be used to mandate abortion coverage as part of a government-run health care program.

After months of debate, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is finally ready to bring the health care reform bill to the House floor. Fortunately, this problem can still be fixed. On Friday, November 6 at 2:00 P.M., the House Rules Committee will meet to decide what amendments will be considered when the health care bill is brought to the House floor for debate.
