The Detroit tragedy morphing into the American tragedy

E-mail Print PDF

The piece I wrote on the tragedy of Detroit, Michigan originally published on October 5, 2009.  It has circulated around the Internet and over to Europe and Australia for the past two years.

At the time, Detroit had dropped from 1.85 million residents to a paltry 912,000 people. In the Denver Post last week, the U.S. Census report showed that Detroit declined further to 712,000 people.  Unfortunately, an incredible percentage of them live on welfare.  The city has been overrun with legal and illegal immigrants and features 90 percent minorities.

Readers send me letters asking me how we can turn it around.  How do we change Detroit and many other cities inside the USA from suffering the same fate?

Why Aren’t They Talking About A Flat Tax?

E-mail Print PDF
When I turned on my television set yesterday it was with the intention of listening to the President of the United States of America explain how he envisioned all of us as a nation reducing our staggering national deficit.  Instead of a logically thought out plan, we were instead, treated to one of the first presidential campaign speeches of the 2012 race.  The second thing Barack Obama did was obliquely tell more than half of America that his presidency represents only the political “progressives” of our country.

We heard all the one-liners from the Democrat Talking Points paper spewed out once again.  There were “the Bush era tax cuts for the rich.”  There was the hackneyed line that has almost become a Democrat mantra; “the “millionaires and billionaires” should be paying more.  He told us about “the debt he inherited” and how the Republicans are planning to make sure grandma does get her medical care, junior doesn’t go to daycare, Johnny does not have money for college and Popeye will lose his spinach.

Obama Hosts Boss of Terror Channel Al-Jazeera

E-mail Print PDF

President Obama on Thursday hosted Emir Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani of Qatar , otherwise known as the Boss of Al-Jazeera, for a meeting in the Oval Office. Obama called him “Your Highness” and “His Highness,” even though the Emir dropped his robes of royalty for a business suit. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani financially sponsors Al-Jazeera and its most famous personality, anti-American and anti-Semitic cleric Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who has just returned to Egypt from Qatar to supervise the transformation of that one-time U.S. ally into an Islamic state.

In addition to our efforts in Libya ,” Obama said, “we have a strong relationship between our two countries. It is an economic relationship. It is a military relationship. It is a cultural relationship. And obviously, Qatar has done very well under His Highness’s leadership, but his influence extends beyond his borders. And so we’ve had discussions about how we can continue to promote democracy, human rights, increased freedom and reform throughout the Middle East .”

Contracts Are Made to Be Broken

Conservatives and Tea party voters now know the discount rate on Boehner–led Republican promises is in the neighborhood of 62 percent. This means if Speaker Boehner promises to cut $100 billion from an Obama spending spree while running for office in November, you are going to get no more than $38 billion when he’s actually in power in April.

In return for this bait–and–switch, the conservatives are expected to continue voting Republican and Boehner will promise to respect us in the morning.

The Speaker enjoyed the support of over 80 Republican freshmen elected on a pledge to take an axe to spending and he couldn’t even eliminate funds for public broadcasting.

This is why politicians and their promises are held in such low esteem: They’ve earned it.

Federal Government Shill for Illegal Aliens and Employers

E-mail Print PDF

The latest setback against the citizens of Arizona by a federal court judge shows the amount of corruption at the highest levels.  While President Barack Obama refuses to enforce immigration laws, he places all Americans at risk.

Thousands of Americans have suffered death or bodily damage from illegal alien drunk drivers, burglaries, rapes and drug trafficking.

A whopping 450,000 illegal aliens work and live in Arizona.  They cost legal citizen taxpayers  $1,000.00 annually to educate, medicate and incarcerate illegals in that  state.  As soon as Arizona signed into law a mandate to catch (SB 1070) and deport illegal aliens caught in various illegal acts, Obama filed suit against the citizens of America.  He won’t do his job as to the laws of the Constitution, but he won’t allow states to preserve themselves from 20 million illegal aliens wreaking havoc on educational systems, medical systems and prisons.

Administration Walks, Quacks like Pro-Iranian Duck

emember the Iranian bomb? We don’t hear much about it from our president these days, but

Iran is proclaiming significant gains in its nuclear program, progress that Western officials and experts say could effectively erase setbacks from recent cyber attacks and shorten the timeline for acquiring nuclear weapons.

cientists from Iran’s atomic energy program, in announcements over the past three days, said they have successfully tested advanced centrifuges for enriching uranium and are less than a month away from starting the country’s first commercial nuclear reactor. The announcements, linked to the observance of “nuclear technology day” in Tehran, underscore recent assessments by intelligence officials and Western nuclear experts suggesting that Iran is preparing to speed up its production of enriched uranium. — Washington Post

Marxism: The Inequity of Equal Outcome

E-mail Print PDF

When individuals are free, as in athletic competition with equal rules, outcomes are naturally unequal; there will be the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Some individuals will attain superior achievement through greater creativity or greater labor, while others work less or with lesser creativity which naturally, and without the application of outside force, leads to unequal outcome. Individuals with equal rights under equal law possess maximum human liberty – they are free to labor creatively in their pursuit of happiness - free to reap the sweet fruit of labor and also free to reap the bitter fruit of laziness. Unforced unequal outcome means equal rights - the essence of justice. The inequity of forced equal outcome is unequal rights – the essence of injustice and tyranny.

“Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others.” Thomas Jefferson
