The stock market plunged 170 points this morning and oil jumped over $3, allegedly based on a New York Times story that Israel is carrying out military exercises as a rehearsal to bombing Iran. But actually, the Times story, written by the very able war correspondent Michael R. Gordon, is talking about Israeli training exercises from early June, not now. Its a rehash story with some new details. And it does in fact confirm the market rumors of June 5 and 6 that Israel was planning an Iranian attack to stop the rogue states nuclear-weapons program.

One of the obvious implications of last weeks Supreme Court decision, which granted inmates at Guantanamo Bay the right of habeas corpus to appeal their detention, is that if Osama bin Laden were captured alive by U.S. forces, the al Qaeda founder could end up in a U.S. civilian court afforded all the protections of law abiding American citizens.

His Red Flag

Obama's Bundler, Osama's Enabler
Should a major party candidate for President, who has pledged his support for our troops, reject the money and support of an anti-American extremist who thinks Osama bin Laden had a valid argument on 9/11 and says she is currently acting to undermine the war effort? Barack Obama should be forced to make that decision about the ample funds he has received from Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans.

THE JERUSALEM POST
The Olmert-Livni-Barak-Yishai government's liquidation sale of Israel's strategic assets opened officially this week. Iran's proxies have pounced on the merchandise.
The first asset sold was the security of southern Israel. The Olmert-Livni-Barak-Yishai government's "cease-fire" with Hamas transferred all power to determine the fate of the residents of southern Israel to Iran's Palestinian proxy.

Successful Troop Surge has Crushed al Qaeda and Pacified Iraq, but Obama and Liberals Continue to Deny It
Despite the fact that the remarkably successful 2007 surge increased the number of American troops in Iraq, May 2008 combat casualties plummeted to their smallest number of the entire war.
This is also despite intense battlefield operations that have decimated al Qaeda and pushed it to the brink of collapse. After all, one would logically expect that the troop surge and intense combat operations would increase troop casualties, but their success has had precisely the opposite effect.

Global Jihad
Tahadia (tahadiya) is the Arabic term for calm and relaxation. In the Israeli Palestinian conflict, especially between Israel and the Hamas, Tahadia is the word used for cease fire.
On Thursday 06/19/2008 at 06:00 a fourth Tahadia since 01/2005, and the first one solely with Hamas, was declared between Israel and the Hamas in Gaza Strip. Generally cease fire with the Palestinians were kept for few hours, seldom for few days.

Whether one attributes the success of Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama to savvy maneuvering on the part of the Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign, Republican ineptitude, a biased press or the influence of shadow governments, in the end the November elections outcome is going to come down to Americans capacity or lack of capacity for critical thinking.

Try as I might, I can't come up with one thing the government has done that couldn't have been done better, less expensively and more successfully by a non government business. Sure, the government has succeeded with special projects that required a lot of money like the atomic bomb, going to the moon and tax collecting, but does anyone want to entrust the government with more mundane things like nuclear power plants, telecommunication, oil production and oil refining, and health care?

C02 Skeptics Exculsive
What is the proper scientific attitude toward new ideas? Heres what philosopher of science Karl Popper had to say:
If you are interested in the problem which I tried to solve by my tentative assertion, you may help me by criticizing it as severely as you can; and if you can design some experimental test which you think might refute my assertion, I shall gladly, and to the best of my powers, help you to refute it.

Last summer Accuracy in Media published two blockbuster stories about the case of Major Jill Metzger, who claimed she was abducted and brutalized but somehow escaped from her captors while on a deployment to a U.S. military base in Kyrgyzstan in September of 2006. But no hard evidence of her claims ever turned up and other local sources suggested the abduction story was designed to conceal the procurement of an abortion.
