No sooner than President Obama named 31-year-old lawyer Rashad Hussain to be America's new envoy to the Organization for the Islamic Conference (OIC), did reports surface indicating Hussain has held harshly critical views of his own country's treatment of Muslims.

Politically motivated prosecutions, out-of-control surveillance of Muslims and the prospect that internment camps could one day return to American soil are among those concerns he has expressed.

Stung by the reaction to his baseless charges of racism against the Tea Party movement, MSNBC TV host Keith Olbermann did something he rarely does-he cited on the air some of the criticism of his remarks, including from my column carried by GOPUSA and other Internet sites. He did this without labeling his critics as being among "the worst" people in the world. But he fell far short of coming clean about why he launched his smears. 

What's more, he failed to retract the bogus charges and examine the many white faces that dominate-in fact, monopolize-the political talk shows on the network that employs him. 

I've been waiting to see how my son's fourth-grade class dealt with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln on the occasion of their birthdays. Finally, the topic came up today.

There was a free period in which students could read whatever book they wanted. One boy, a foreign student (not an immigrant), was looking at a book containing short biographies of every U.S. president. Seeing him the teacher said something about, oh yes, we shouldn't let this occasion slip by. She took the book and read the class the short entries about these two presidents.

I don't expect this to stick. I fully expect some left-wing, paid off judge to come to the aid of these union thugs. But... in Central Falls, Rhode Island School Superintendent Frances Gallo has fired an entire high school's worth of teachers and administrators over a labor dispute.

Central Falls High School is situated in one of the poorest sections of Rhode Island yet the teachers there make between $72 and $78 thousand per year, far above the mean income of the area. The school is also performing dismally.
