Tons of explosives stolen
An armed group hijacked a tractor-trailer truck transporting 18 tons of explosives on the Monterrey-Saltillo highway near Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. The truck's two operators were abducted and are missing. Only the truck's tractor has been located by the federal agents where it was abandoned near Saltillo, the capital city of neighboring Coahuila. The missing cargo of explosives, used in mining operations, was originally destined for Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

On the heels of a federal crackdown, lawmakers in Nebraska are scrambling to pass legislation that will allow pregnant illegal immigrant women to continue receiving free, taxpayer-financed medical care.
The state has for decades offered the costly perk to pregnant illegal aliens, whose "anchor babies" are automatically United States citizens. However, the federal government recently notified the state that it was illegally determining eligibility for publicly-funded medical care known as Medicaid.

Most of the spotlighted conservative leaders at the giant CPAC convention this weekend showed that they are far more interested in the feelings of Republican Party major donors than in offering help for 25 million Americans who can't find a full-time job.
Americans might have hoped that finally at this meeting there would be a sign of true leadership in stopping the massive importation of new foreign workers during a jobs depression. But on that topic, hope was as scarce as at the Obama White House.

Del Rio Sector - Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Del Rio, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Paisas gang member, and records checks revealed he had been previously removed from the United States.
El Paso Sector - Border Patrol agents seized 192 pounds of marijuana, a 1999 Mercury Cougar, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) near Columbus, New Mexico. The subject failed to pull over when agents attempted a vehicle stop, but abandoned his vehicle a short time later. When agents encountered the subject, he actively resisted arrest, but an agent was able to subdue him and make the apprehension safely.
