US: The art of blaming the neighbor

For 25 years, US politicians have based their war on drugs on a simple premise, that in order to eradicate the consumption of narcotics among its citizens, it is enough to eliminate the producers and traffickers who live in the back yard.  Until quite recently, the business for that country's demagogues came out clear: election after election they campaigned making a show of their sensibility toward victims of drug addiction while they proposed to invest more money, buy more arms and send more agents of the DEA to Mexico and Colombia.

 All the advisors and experts on the subject have written and stated during the same period that to fight against the supply without combating the demand is of no use.

During the Bolshevik Revolution that led to communist Russia, Comrade Vladimir Lenin said, "Sell the capitalists enough rope and they will hang themselves!"

Nearly 100 years later, Lenin's predictions reveal his veracity with chilling fruition. The United States bleeds $11 trillion in debt.  It suffers a $700 billion annual trade deficit, mostly with China, which by the way thrives as a communist nation selling us lots of 'rope', i.e., consumer goods.  We import another $700 billion in oil annually from other countries.  We borrow $2 billion daily to float our sinking economy.  The average American's credit card debt equals $9,425.00 according to NBC's Brian Williams.   We suffer 15 million unemployed American workers and 35 million subsisting on food stamps.

I've completed my review of the South America gun-control treaty that Mr. Obama wants to get ratified. (signed by the U.S. 11/19/1997)

It is known as CIFTA, the Inter-American Convention Against The Illicit Manufacturing Of And Trafficking In Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, And Other Related Materials. It can be found here verbatim.

 The gore continues

The mutilated bodies of nine people and their decapitated heads were found in front of a clinic in the Mexican town of Tlapehuala, state of Guerrero.  According to local authorities, there has been an intensification of organized crime violence in that region.  The macabre discovery was made late Thursday evening.

The body of an ex-commander of the Durango state department of investigations was found under a bridge near the state's capital.  He had been abducted the day before his body was discovered along with a narco-message.
