Last week American Border Patrol held a press conference in Tucson to expose government lies about the border. For the first time in fifteen years of holding press conferences, Glenn Spencer reported that no one showed up. He even got an e-mail from a TV reporter who said he had asked his station to cover the story and expressed surprise when they didn't. (see related)

The Impact of Non-Citizen Voting on American Elections
Executive Summary
The approaching 2008 general elections underscore concern that the growing access of non-citizens to the ballot box could distort the outcome. Groups arguing for easier access to the polls deny there is a problem at all, seeing restrictive registration and identification rules as anti-democratic and even racist. They dismiss non-citizen voting as rare, not criminal in intent or concerted, and more harmful than beneficial to non-citizens.

Tijuana becoming a no man's land - very dangerous place to be

Eleven persons were murdered in Tijuana and Rosarito, Baja Calif. in the last few hours. Three were found by a landfill, two in a car, three others at a taco stand. (And so on.) Local officials said the events were all apparently related to organized crime activity. Last week the press reported more than fifty murders related to organized crime in Tijuana.

Mexican drug cartels are extending their tentacles in Latin America

headline: "Mexican cartels expand their tentacles in Latin America" ( - full transl. - except for the next to last paragraph, an item which was already reported yesterday)
The Meeting of Public Security Ministers of the Americas ends today in Mexico and according to statements made there the Mexican drug cartels are extending their tentacles in Latin America and worrying the governments of Argentina, Costa Rica, Colombia and Guatemala.
