Use TPS Fees Paid by Haitian Illegals to Help Haiti
from the Center for Immigration Studies
The Miami Herald tells us that something like 200,000 Haitians, now in the U.S., illegally, are going to be given temporary legal status in the U.S. through grants of Temporary Protected Status. The number is much larger than earlier estimates issued by the government, and might be an over statement.
They will be given government-issued work-permits, allowed to stay 18 months (at least) and in all probability - if the future is like the past - 99 percent of them will stay in the U.S. for the rest of their lives.

Tenth Amendment State's Rights
Today the federal government is literally everywhere. It has its nose in everything, and it has been that way for a long, long time.
In the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions of 1798, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison warned us that if the federal government were to have the exclusive right to judge the extent of its own powers, its power would continue to grow - regardless of elections, the separation of powers, and other much-touted limits on power.
The principle behind these resolutions, that the power of federal government must be checked by state governments, has gained resurgence in recent years, and is growing more every day.

U. S. Sovereignty
"The assault by judicial supremacists (activist/liberal or "Reconstructionist" judges) against the Constitution and the rule of law is the most serious issue facing our political system today. If unchecked, judicial supremacy will continue to grow like a cancer and destroy our republic." So wrote the "Mother of American Conservatism," Eagle Forum's Phyllis Schlafly, in her 2004 book, The Supremacists.
Mrs. Schlafly's assertion is even truer today - if possible - than when it was first written. And no weapon of Reconstructionist judges is more deadly than their invocation of foreign and international law to interpret the U.S. Constitution.
