Like hundreds of other decisions taken by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries since it was formed 47 years ago, the decision taken two weeks ago not to respond to American urgings to boost oil production came in for heavy criticism by the U.S. administration. In many previous cases, OPEC refrained from open confrontation with the U.S.

New Paper Examines Visa Overstays

WASHINGTON (March 2008) – While presidential candidates promise to secure the border, the other major source of illegal immigration is largely ignored – lax visa policies. Visa overstays account for between one-quarter to one-half of the illegal-alien population, and fencing, unmanned aerial vehicles, National Guard patrols, etc., are irrelevant to controlling this part of the immigration problem.

Without public notice the Bush administration is proceeding with construction of a vast superhighway through the United States from Mexico to Canada. The “highway” is four football fields wide and will have multi-lane roadways, room for a pipeline and a railroad.

The main beneficiaries of this project will be the mega-businesses that will move merchandise of all sorts across the continent at lower costs than presently and add to profits at the expense of our private property, security and landscape.

I have long been the target of the Southern Poverty Law Center and other left-wing organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League.
I am not alone. Most recently the SPLC has taken aim at the largest immigration reform group, the Federation for American Immigration Reform, or FAIR. Yesterday I received a call from Ted Morris, a reporter for the Sierra Vista Herald (See today's report).
He wanted to get my reaction to accusations made by the SPLC that I was aligned with hate groups. He mentioned the Council for Conservative Citizens and American Renaissance. SPLC said I had spoken before both groups.
Without agreeing that these are hate groups, whatever that means, let me explain. (More....)

SPLC's Slander Spencer says SPLC has joined forces with Isabel Garcia of Derechos Humanos to defeat any attempt to stop Mexicans from invading the United States.
