Americans Died and Obama Lied

Obama was AWOL Stevens Died Obama LiedBy Col. Tom Snodgrass (Ret.), Right Side News

What follow are excerpts of President Obama’s personal quotes wherein he exposes that he was lying about the motivation of the Benghazi jihadist terror attack. As can be clearly seen in his statements, he directly contradicts his lie that he always maintained terrorism had motivated the Islamist Benghazi attack, which killed four Americans including the U.S. ambassador, and not an obscure Internet video insulting Mohammad.

Transcript Excerpts: Bill O'Reilly interviews President Obama, February 2, 2014

O'REILLY:  Libya, House Armed Services testimony, General Carter Ham, you know, the general?

OBAMA:  Yes.

O'REILLY:  He testified that on the day that the ambassador was murdered and the three other Americans, all right, he told Secretary Panetta it was a terrorist attack.  Shortly after Ham, General Ham, said that, Secretary Panetta came in to you.

OBAMA:  Yes.

O'REILLY:  Did he tell you, Secretary Panetta, it was a terrorist attack?

OBAMA:  You know what he told me was that there was an attack on our compound...

O'REILLY:  He didn't tell you...

O'REILLY:  -- he didn't use the word "terror?"

OBAMA:  You know, in -- in the heat of the moment, Bill, what folks are focused on is what's happening on the ground, do we have eyes on it, how can we make sure our folks are secure...

O'REILLY:  Because I just want to get this on the record...

OBAMA:  So, I...

O'REILLY:  -- did he tell you it was a terror attack?

OBAMA:  Bill -- and what I'm -- I'm answering your question.  What he said to me was, we've got an attack on our compound.  We don't know yet...

O'REILLY:  No terror attack?

OBAMA:  -- we don't know yet who's doing it.  Understand, by definition, Bill, when somebody is attacking our compound...

OBAMA:  -- that's an act of terror, which is how I characterized it the day after it happened.  So the -- so the question ends up being who, in fact, was attacking us?

Excerpts of Remarks by the President on the Deaths of U.S. Embassy Staff in Libya, September 12, 2012

Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi.

The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack.

Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths.  We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.

Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe.

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.

We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act.  And make no mistake, justice will be done.

Excerpts of Obama/Clinton’s $70,000 Apology Ad for Muhammad Video run on Pakistani TV, September 20, 2011

OBAMA: “Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.” (It is from the video clip of Obama making his September 12th comments the White House Rose Garden.)

CLINTON: “Let me state very clearly, and I hope it is obvious, that the United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video. We absolutely reject its content and message. America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation.”

Excerpts of Remarks by the President to the UN General Assembly, September 25, 2011

In every country, there are those who find different religious beliefs threatening...

That is what we saw play out in the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.  Now, I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity.

It is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well . . .  We understand why people take offense to this video because millions of our citizens are among them.

I know there are some who ask why we don’t just ban such a video.  And the answer is enshrined in our laws:  Our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech.

There's no video that justifies an attack on an embassy.

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

Some of the Other Instances of Obama and his Minions Misleading the American Public

Contrary to Obama’s dishonest assertion that he immediately identified the Benghazi butchery as an act of terror, on September 12th, Obama told CBS News, when asked whether he thought the strike was an Islamic terrorist attack said: "Well, it's too early to tell exactly how this came about." Obama only would say that the Islamic Quran-mandated carnage was "an attack on Americans."

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney also denied reports on September 14th that it was a pre-planned jihadist terror attack.

On September 16th U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice made her mendacious comments calling the attack the result of a protest against the obscure video on five different Sunday news talk shows.

On September 18th Obama appeared on the "Late Show With David Letterman." By this time the Obama cabal had completed their video fabrication, and Obama laid out his lie in detail:

LETTERMAN: Now, I don’t understand, um, the ambassador to Libya killed in an attack on the consulate in Benghazi. Is this an act of war? Are we at war now? What happens here?

OBAMA: Here's what happened. ... You had a video that was released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character who -- who made an extremely offensive video directed at -- at Mohammed and Islam

LETTERMAN: Making fun of the Prophet Mohammed.

OBAMA: Making fun of the Prophet Mohammed. And so, this caused great offense in much of the Muslim world. But what also happened, extremists and terrorists used this as an excuse to attack a variety of our embassies, including the one, the consulate in Libya.

Finally, on September 25th, Obama was asked about Benghazi by co-host Joy Behar during his appearance on ABC’s daytime show "The View":

BEHAR: OK, I want to talk about Libya for a second because on 9/11 of this past year our embassy was attacked there and we lost four people, including the ambassador, and it was reported that people just went crazy and wild because of this anti-Muslim movie, or anti-Mohammed, I guess, movie. But then I heard Hillary Clinton say it was an act of terrorism. Is it? What do you say?

OBAMA: Well, we’re still doing an investigation. There’s no doubt the kind of weapons that were used, the ongoing assault, that it wasn’t just a mob action. Now, we don’t have all the information yet, and so we’re still gathering it. But what’s clear is that around the world, there are still a lot of threats out there.

(What is curious about Obama’s evasion to Behar is that on the same day he declared to the UN General Assembly that it was the anti-Mohammad video which enflamed the Muslim mob, causing the attack – not terrorism. Obviously, Obama’s lie was unraveling by this time, and he was trapped between looking even more dishonest by continuing the video façade or acknowledging the undeniable jihadist facts others were exposing.)

Connecting the Dots

If, as Obama fraudulently contends, his September 12th comments prove he identified the Benghazi attack as terror from the beginning, how does Obama account for this seemingly incoherent declaration: “We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.” The implication of this cryptic statement suggests that immediately after the event the Obama cabal had not fleshed out their perfidious cover story blaming the attack on something other than Islamic terrorism. In those same September 12th comments Obama alleges his ambiguous reference to terrorism proves his early acknowledgment of the terror motive: “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation.” However, Obama made no specific overt linkage of the Benghazi attack and the death of the ambassador to Islamic terror. To the contrary, his statement “rejecting the denigration of other’s religious beliefs” implies that the cause of the murderous attack grew out of an insult to Islam.

Without a doubt one of the more devious black ops-type of misdirection employed by Obama in his scam to deceive the American people and the world into believing the Benghazi attack wasn’t terrorism was apologizing to the Islamic world for the fictional cause of the attack. In order to give credence to his attempted deception Obama paid U.S. taxpayer dollars to broadcast apology legerdemain on Pakistani TV. Obama’s motivation in foisting his deceitful apology on the Islamic world was really to convince the American electorate that Islamic jihadist terrorism was not responsible for the attack.

It is important to note the timing of this Benghazi attack because it was staged by the Muslim terrorists just seven weeks before the 2012 presidential election. This election-proximate timing compounded Obama’s cover-up problem because, at the Democrat nominating convention, a mere five days prior to the 9/11 attack, Obama had proclaimed impending victory over the jihadists:

“I promised to refocus on the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11, and we have.” (Cheers, applause.)

“We've blunted the Taliban's momentum in Afghanistan and in 2014, our longest war will be over.” (Cheers, applause.)

“A new tower rises above the New York skyline, al- Qaeda is on the path to defeat and Osama bin Laden is dead.” (Cheers, applause.)

Obama was well aware that the death of the ambassador and the other Americans in Benghazi gave the lie to the Obama campaign mantra that the terrorist threat had been blunted and that al-Qaeda was on the path to defeat. Therefore, Obama and his accomplices had to really stretch their imaginations to manufacture a story that explained the terror attack without impugning Obama’s baseless victory claim. The product of their devious conspiring was the ridiculous fiction that the obscure Internet video mocking Mohammad had driven a spontaneous, flash mob of Muslims into a murderous frenzy, as was presented in Susan Rice’s infamous talking-points. In the face of fact and logic to the contrary, Obama and his toadies clung to their preposterous video prevarication for two entire weeks as Obama’s obfuscating and dishonest speech to the UN General Assembly on September 25th bears witness:

“Now, I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video...”

By his lies, Obama has totally discredited himself as Commander-in-Chief. But as long as the Democrat Party controls the Senate, there is no possibility of reversing Obama’s feckless national security policies. As a nation we have never been so leaderless, even during the tenure of Jimmy Carter.
