April 14, 2011 - Outreach program educates teens about the dangers of drug smuggling

In 2008, within 24 hours, five teenagers were apprehended at two California ports for drug smuggling. That's when agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) realized they must take action. They launched a community outreach campaign about the dangers of drug smuggling aimed at middle and high school-age students. Full Story 

April 13, 2011 - Former Mexican federal agent returned to Mexico to face drug charges ICE_Badge

An ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officer turned over a former agent for the Mexican judicial police to Mexican law enforcement officials at the border crossing in San Ysidro, Calif., Wednesday morning. He was wanted in his native country on drug trafficking charges. Full Story

April 13, 2011 - Savannah area McDonald's employees indicted for conspiring to sell stolen identities

Two managers of a McDonald's restaurant owned by NTG Enterprises allegedly sold stolen identities of U.S. citizens so illegal aliens could obtain employment with the restaurant. They are also charged with harboring illegal aliens. Full Story

April 11, 2011 - 1,500-pound marijuana seizure leads to federal prison for 7 men

Seven men were involved in a drug smuggling operation where they received 1,500 pounds of marijuana encased in large cement pillars. They were sentenced this week in Charlotte, N.C., for drug trafficking-related offenses, following an investigation led by ICE HSI special agents, with the assistance of the Union County Sheriff's Office. Full Story

April 11, 2011 - Airport baggage handler sentenced to 5 years in prison for drug smuggling

An airline baggage handler was sentenced Thursday to 60 months in prison for his role in attempting to import drugs aboard a U.S. Airways flight from Jamaica. The case was investigated by ICE HSI special agents. Full Story
