Border Patrol agents seized over 11,574 pounds of marijuana and 154.7 pounds of cocaine. Agents arrested three criminal aliens and seven gang members. There were three rocking incidents.

 Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 464 pounds of marijuana, a Chevrolet Tahoe, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) and an illegal alien from Mexico near Brownsville, Texas. The USC was apprehended attempting to abscond from the vehicle loaded with marijuana.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2.31 pounds of heroin, a Volkswagen Jetta, and arrested a national of Mexico pursuant to a vehicle stop near Temecula, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents revealed the heroin.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,719 pounds of marijuana and arrested a USC pursuant to a vehicle stop near Temecula, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the rental truck driven by the subject and a subsequent search revealed the marijuana.

 Blaine Sector – Border Patrol agents seized $360,760.00 in Canadian currency, $296,185.00 in U.S. currency, and arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near Blaine, Washington. Agents encountered the subjects walking across the international boundary and illegally entering into the United States. The currency was discovered in backpacks carried by both men. Records checks revealed one of the subjects had been previously removed from the United States.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico in Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 and forgery. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a USC attempting to smuggle an illegal alien from Colombia into the United States near Sarita, Texas. During processing, the USC admitted to being a member of the Mexican Mafia gang. Records checks revealed the USC had an extensive criminal history, including multiple convictions and prison sentences for burglary and theft.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico in Las Cruces, New Mexico. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño 13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a criminal history, and had been previously ordered removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,228 pounds of marijuana and a Chevrolet Tahoe near Stanfield, Arizona. Agents encountered the vehicle on routine patrol and as they approached, the two occupants of the vehicle absconded into the desert. The marijuana was discovered in the abandoned vehicle.

 Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,350 pounds of marijuana and two vehicles near Cuevitas, Texas. Agents observed several subjects loading suspected narcotics into the two vehicles. When agents approached, the subjects abandoned the vehicles and fled the scene. A subsequent search of both vehicles uncovered the marijuana.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,164 pounds of marijuana and a Chevrolet Suburban near Ajo, Arizona. Agents located the vehicle in a dry wash partially covered by camouflage. The marijuana was found inside the vehicle.

Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,879 pounds of marijuana and a Toyota pickup truck after the truck was observed being lifted over the international border fence by a crane near San Luis, Arizona. Agents discovered the marijuana in the bed of the truck.

 Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,275 pounds of marijuana and a Chevrolet pickup truck near La Casita, Texas. Agents initiated a vehicle stop and the driver of the vehicle absconded. The marijuana was found in the abandoned vehicle.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,263 pounds of marijuana near GuVo, Arizona. The bundles of marijuana were discovered while agents were tracking a group of suspected illegal aliens through the desert.

 Tucson Sector – A Border Patrol agent was assaulted by an illegal alien from Mexico in Douglas, Arizona. The agent was attempting to arrest the subject near the international border fence when the subject struck and bit the agent. The agent subdued the subject and affected the arrest without further incident. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Blythe, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

 El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Hachita, New Mexico. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño 13 gang. Records checks revealed he had an extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for theft, burglary and possession/sale of dangerous weapons. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,232 pounds of marijuana, a Dodge Charger, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Cuba, a national of Mexico, and a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer, and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within. A subsequent search uncovered the marijuana inside the trailer. Further investigation led to the arrest of the two subjects who were traveling in the Dodge Charger and the seizure of that vehicle.
