Immigration and Customs Enforcement is the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government. Created in 2003 through a merger of the investigative and interior enforcement elements of the U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service, ICE now has more than 20,000 employees in more than 400 offices in the United States and 46 foreign countries.

Nov. 23, 2010 - Gulf Coast BEST members seize sailing vessel with 4,500 pounds of marijuana; arrest 3 suspects

ICE_BadgeThe U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)-led Border Enforcement Security Taskforce (BEST) kept a close eye on the sailing vessel Sarah Moira as it made its way from the Caribbean to the Gulfport, Miss., area. When BEST members boarded the boat, they discovered 4,500 pounds of marijuana in two wooden containers. Full Story

Nov. 23, 2010 - Jamaican brothers extradited to U.S. on narcotics trafficking charges

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents uncovered a global drug smuggling operation. Roger and Romeo Folkes, among others, hid cocaine in retractable luggage handrails and along with their co-conspirators planned to distribute the drugs in the United States and Great Britain. Full Story

Nov. 22, 2010 - ICE arrests 85 convicted criminal aliens, fugitives in enforcement surge throughout Colorado, and part of Wyoming

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers launched a four-day operation that netted 85 arrests of criminal illegal aliens in Colorado and Wyoming. Arrested individuals had criminal convictions ranging from sexual assault to drunk driving. Full Story

Nov. 22, 2010 - ICE arrests 18 in operation targeting sex offenders in Georgia

ICE ERO officers arrested 18 criminal aliens who had committed offenses ranging from sexual battery to child molestation. The arrests were conducted under Operation SOAR (Sex Offender Alien Removal), which targets at-large criminal aliens who are removable due to convictions for sexual offenses. Full Story

Nov. 21, 2010 - ICE takes down Puerto Rican drug lord, dismantles largest drug trafficking organization in the Caribbean

ICE HSI agents conducted an investigation that culminated with the arrest of Figueroa-Agosto and 12 of his associates on charges of drug trafficking and money laundering. Full Story
