Pelosi Considering DREAM Act Vote in the House

E-mail Print

Sources within the Democratic Party are saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants a vote on the DREAM Act during the lame-duck session, and it could be as soon as next week. The Senate tried to bring the DREAM Act to the floor before the mid-term elections as an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill. A Republican filibuster, however, prevented the Defense bill from even coming to the floor for debate.

pelosi_the_wicked_witchSpeaker Pelosi said she would keep controversial bills of the House floor in the months leading up to the election, but with the dramatic swing of the Immigration Balance of Power in the House as a result of the elections, she likely sees the lame-duck as the last chance to pass the DREAM Act.
