A federal jury convicted Balraj Naidu, a citizen of the Republic of Singapore, for conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Full Story
- Headquarters: FBI Releases 2009 Statistics on Law Enforcement Officers Killed in Action
Forty-eight law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty last year, 47 officers died in accidents while performing their duties and 57,268 officers were assaulted in the line of duty. The 2009 edition of Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted was released providing data about these incidents and brief narratives describing the fatal attacks. Full Story

Zachary Adam Chesser pleaded guilty on charges of communicating threats against the writers of the South Park television show, soliciting violent jihadists to desensitize law enforcement and attempting to provide material support to designated foreign terrorist organization, Al-Shabaab. Full Story
- New York: Four Men Found Guilty of Plotting to Bomb New York Synagogue and Jewish Community Center and to Shoot Military Planes with Stinger Missiles
James Cromitie, David Williams, Onta Williams and Laguerre Payen were found guilty of plotting to detonate explosives near a synagogue and Jewish community center, and to shoot military planes located at the New York Air National Guard Base in Newburgh. Full Story

Clelia Flores was sentenced to five years in federal prison, and to pay $6,123,063 in restitution to 169 people investors who were victimized by her Ponzi scheme that collected more than $10 million dollars with bogus promises of 25 percent returns every 45 days. Full Story

- Phoenix: Former Border Patrol Agent Sentenced for Civil Rights Violation
Former U.S. Border Patrol Agent Edward Moreno was sentenced to 12 months' supervised release, four months confinement under house arrest and ordered to pay restitution of $1,392.25, for depriving the civil rights of a Mexican national when Moreno, acting under color of law, assaulted the victim in a U.S. Border Patrol Facility in Arizona.
