Frontier families kept a shotgun above the mantle, always at the ready, to protect their children from wandering predators. Every generation has had hardships and obstacles to overcome. As a parent today, you face issues no other generation before you has had to face.
The predators that threaten your family are evil, unseen and opportunistic. They sneak through your backdoor, as laws that pass with little notice. They lurk in our courtrooms, where your parental rights are whittled away without announcement. They thrive in classrooms, where politically correct ideals are taught, and traditional values and childhood innocence are lost.
Just as our Civil War once raged from fields to front porches, the culture war is now entrenched within our schools, churches and courts– wounding our national conscience and amputating our morality.

Family Values
It's a gross understatement to say the culture war is a war over family values. It's a war over belief systems of the Left and the Right; one empowers the family, the other sees the family as an institution at odds with the state.
One believes the world can be saved, and the injustice of humanity removed though the power of government. The other, understands the frailty of humanity, the danger of power, and knows salvation only comes one soul at a time as an individual responsibility.
That responsibility can only be realized through freedom.
In spite of the Left's utter incompetence and moral bankruptcy, they charge themselves with "progressing" the human condition as self-appointed judges of injustice. Today's parents have inherited the Left's legacy of (un?) intended consequences.
The downward spiral must stop with us.
Our decisions establish that the Constitution protects the sanctity of the family precisely because the institution of the family is deeply rooted in this Nation's history and tradition. It is through the family that we inculcate and pass down many of our most cherished values, moral and cultural.

The child is not the mere creature of the State; those who nurture him and direct his destiny have the right, coupled with the high duty, to recognize and prepare him for additional obligations.

At the risk of stating the obvious; children come from our bodies and are held in our arms. At least, it should be obvious that children belong with their parents as much as possible. The fact that, that needs to be stated, is an indicator as to how successful the Left has become in negating the role of parents within the family structure.
Nonetheless, mom and dad offering the masculine and feminine influences are vital to raise up a balanced child. Sometimes families fail their children, but is there a better alternative? People fail their families, their friends and themselves- that's part of the human condition. So is growing in our failures, forgiveness and the deep bonds of love that tie families together. No government program can offer that. No government program can fix the shortcomings of the unique individuals within a family.
But since when did so-called liberals concern themselves with those pesky things called facts?
From government health clinics to leftist parenting articles, there's a litany of voices telling parents how to raise their child–and the theme runs along lines–take the sage advice of the professionals. Gone are the days of "Father Knows Best." Today we have "progressed" to the state knows best; what foods to eat, what social mores to support, and when to keep secrets (from parents).
All it takes is a quick look around the to see the results of leftist ideology. We see broken homes, failing schools, child abuse, and yet the 'experts' still claim to have the answers. There's a good reason for that. The Left understands if they win this battle, what the prize is:

The Leftist Infiltration of Religion
When Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong built their godless Communist regimes through enforcement of state atheism, religion continued to stand as a clear contradiction and, as such, a threat to the leftist agenda.
Today’s Religious Left has taken a new approach by becoming the proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing. By incorporating Marxist ideology with Christian theology, the Religious Left is committed to making its “long march” through America’s religious institutions, both Catholic and non-Catholic.
Spawned from a perversion of Catholicism in 1960s Latin America, the Religious Left is dedicated to infiltrating and consuming their old rival — the Church.
The infiltration of the Religious Left takes place primarily in the following spheres of church activity: Environmentalism, Feminism, Gay Rights, Anti-War, Human Rights, Civil Rights, Racial Justice, and Economics. In the Family Way is committed to exposing the works of all who seek to distort Christianity’s authentic nature in regard to human dignity, the family, freedom and responsibility.
Sexualizing Innocence
In 2005, we lost a major battle for the innocence of our children, and parents' right to protect their own children from information they deem inappropriate or immoral.

The breaking down of the moral fabric of the nation, began with the cultural terrorism of the "sexual revolution." Sexual exploitation is a tool of the Left.
Every society throughout history, has recognized that sexual restraints and boundaries are necessary to protect the family unit, children, and the health and survival of a culture. Yet, under the guise of sexual freedom, the Left has imprisoned entire generations with the legacy of consequences: single parenthood, abortions, STDs, pornography, teenage parents and generational poverty.
In the grand fashion of never letting a good crisis going to waste, leftist organizations thrive under such circumstances, and government grows fat and bloated with programs and entitlements.
Parents alone, are the first line of defense in the battle for the sexual morality of their children. We can never concede this battle.
School Indoctrination
Leftist Myth: It's the schools' job to educate America's children.
Truth: It is the parent's responsibility to see to it that their children are properly educated.
American kids spend 1,146 instructional hours per year in school and the current administration wants even more. Reason would tell us that if something is working, you want more of it- expand it and invest in it. So, why would we want to expand, and invest in an educational system that is an embarrassment at best and a disgrace at worse?
Because for the Left, it is a grand success–for indoctrination.
Parents must take back their children's education, reclaim the responsibility we tend to gladly surrender. Traditionally, Americans have always taken care of our own. Contrary to what the Left would have us believe, it doesn't take a union backed teacher to educate a child. It takes responsible parents.
The Left has been winning the battle for the minds of children all the way through to college. So much so, it's common knowledge. What more and more parents are realizing, is that not only do we have the responsibility to educate our children, we have a right to it. However, as with all of our natural rights, the Left has twisted that into the right to be educated by the state.
In the battle for the education of our children, the first line of defense are parents that understand it's their right and responsible to educate their children.
We don't have to give our children government funded Kool-Aid.
