Gays Think Marines Irrelevant

Two gay activists were on Chris Matthews last night to discuss overturning the military's policy on gays serving openly in the Armed Forces of the United States.

During the discussion, Matthews asked Aubrey Sarvis of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network if the Marine Commandant needed to be consulted on overturning the ban on gays in the military. (The other guest was Joe Solomonese of the Human Rights Campaign.)

Sarvis basically dismissed the Marine Commandant as irrelevant to the discussion. According to Sarvis, not all of the Joint Chiefs need to approve the overturn of the ban on gays in the Armed Forces. He's expecting Joint Chiefs Chairman Mullen, Secretary of Defense Gates and President Obama to support the aggressive effort of the gays to homosexualize our military.

Sarvis thinks the Marines are irrelevant to this discussion. Hasn't he any knowledge of history? The Marines are typically the first on shore when a battle is raging to defend freedom. Does he remember Iwo Jima - where more than 23,000 Marines died in a 40-day battle against entrenched Japanese.  No war has ever been won without the Marines.

Does Sarvis remember that the Marine Corps was established by the Continental Congress in November 1775 and has served with distinction in every war America has ever fought to preserve liberty?

Sarvis is disrespecting the memory of our fallen Marines and the Marine Corps as one of the most effective fighting forces in the world. His shameful comments come just days before Memorial Day when we honor our fallen soldiers!

Sarvis and his ilk should be condemned for their attempts to introduce homosexual sex into our Armed Forces. And, his disrespect of the Marine Corps is a shameful outrage!

TVC sent a letter of concern to Members of Congress today to oppose repeal of the law banning gays from serving openly in the military.
