UNITED KINGDOM: Holton also reports our British cousins continue their trend toward an increasing tolerance - even facilitation - of Shariah in the UK.
"This week a group of British Shariah-Compliant Banks teamed with government entities to launch a lobbying organization to promote Shariah Finance in Great Britain and push for the British government to issue an Islamic bond (better known as Sukuk)," writes Holton at Shariah Finance Watch. Lebanon: The Canadian Press and the AP are reporting, "International investigators have summoned 12 Hezbollah members and close supporters for questioning in the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri," according to the terrorist group's leader Hassan Nasrallah. Egypt: Egyptian security forces seize 100 anti-aircraft missiles and other weapons believed destined for Gaza, Wednesday, according to the Egyptian newspaper al-Youm al-Sabe' (as reported by Ynet). Egyptian forces also discovered three tunnels linking Rafah (Egypt) to the Gaza Strip, and more than 40 vehicles used for smuggling.
Gaza: The Kuwait News Agency reports that Palestinians fired two more rockets into Israel on Wednesday. Local radio stations said the Ali Mustafa Brigade - the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - claimed responsibility. And just hours after Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov urged Hamas to stop militants from firing rockets into Israel, a Qassam rocket was fired into Ashkelon.
The Israeli Air Force has responded.
