On Monday 02/08/2010 and three following days Pakistan has arrested 6 Taliban commanders from Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as some of their aids. Mullah Baradar and Abu-Waqas were arrested in Karachi. The Taliban "shadow governor" of Kunduz, North Afghanistan - Mullah Abdul Salam was arrested in the Pakistani city of Faisalabad, a center of Islamic militant organizations fighting against India in Kashmir, while his colleague, the Taliban "shadow governor" of Baghlan - Mullah Mir Mohammad, was arrested too in Pakistan. Pakistani officials confirmed the arrests are related (see - Arrets 02.18.10).

pashtulandIn Lahore, the Capital of Punjab, two Tehrik-e-Taleban commanders identified as Abdur Rehman and Muhammad Talha and six of their associates, from the restive Swat District of Northern Pakistan, were also captured.

Looking at the broad picture all the detainees are Pashtu tribesmen leaders from the Pashtu Belt, which stretches from Swat Valley in NWFP, North Pakistan to Helmand in South Afghanistan. They were arrested hundreds km away from their natural habitat while travelling to South and East Pakistan and the timing was the eve of Moshtarak-Operation in Afghanistan. The accumulation of the arrests indicates it was not just accidental. The details suggest it was a joined CIA-ISI operation to decapitate the Taliban leadership, as much as possible, and timed ahead of Moshtarak-Operation.

The question is therefore why, all of a sudden, ANBIGUOUS PAKISTAN is so willing to cooperate with USA. There is no doubt that Pakistan is, nowadays, the most active hothouse of Islamic terror and the largest terror exporter in the world. The most active international Islamic terror network was run by the Pakistani Lashkar-e-Toiba, as it was revealed by the arrests of Headley and Rana in Chicago, USA, in 10/2009 (see - The-Network). Furthermore, although Al Qaeda found refuge and safe haven in Afghanistan - The 9/11 was planed, coordinated and instructed from Karachi, Pakistan, by Khalid Shaik Mohammed, who used often safe houses belonging to the Pakistani intelligence ISI. He was arrested in such a guest house with The 9/11 financier Mustafa al-Hawsawi on 03/01/2003.

Under USA pressure and the post 9/11 atmosphere Pakistan, then under President Pervez Musharraf, decided to turn over elements of Al Qaeda to USA so Pakistan could pose itself as an ally in the war on terror while, at the same time, to keep the Kashmiri network operational and intact. Indeed, when being asked about Pakistan's role in fighting terror Pervez Musharraf mentioned time and again Pakistan's role in arresting almost all senior Al Qaeda operatives, while, at the same time, terror attacks were carried out from Pakistan against India (see - The-Army).

The Pakistani terror conglomerate is, basically, formed from two networks - one network is affiliated to ISI, based in Punjab and Pakistani Kashmir and aimed to uproot India from Kashmir. The network is responsible of thousands of terror attacks in India and is protected in various ways by the Pakistani military establishment. The second network is the Taliban network aimed to uproot, eventually, USA and its allies from Afghanistan (see - PK Two Heads).

Under growing pressure from USA to help out USA in Afghanistan, to contain the threat and to justify the huge military aid given to Pakistan to fight terror, Pakistan was obliged to do something or to jeopardize the military relations with USA (see - Afpak-War). Pakistan, therefore, repeated the post 9/11 scenario and preferred to arrest elements from the Taliban in Afghanistan in order to respond to the American pressure but also to divert the attention and to protect the Kashmiri network against India with is still operational, active, controlled by ISI and exporting terror such as the last German Bakery explosion in Pune, India, on 02/13/2010, which killed 10 people (see - Pune 02.13.10).

Global Jihad.net - As an Israeli citizen, living in the Galilee and in the Middle East I, naturally, experienced the conflict that my country has with her neighbors. I always tried to understand the aspirations as well as the frustrations of the Arab Muslim world around us.

Ever since my studies in Haifa University of History of the Middle East and Arabic, in the 70's, I came to the conclusion that the Israeli - Arab conflict is a genuine conflict on its own about territories and national identity but also, at the same time, a part of a much larger conflict between the Western industrialized and democratic world, with a colonial and imperial legacy, and the Muslim world with its pride and glorious heritage.

This site is an attempt to understand the full phenomenon of our time - The Global Jihad.
