.C. Catholic Foster Care Closes - Gay Agenda Wins
February 18, 2010 - It is a sad day for children in the District of Columbia foster care system. Catholic Charities has ended its foster-care program with our nation's capital.
Why? Archbishop Donald Wuerl was left with no alternative after the D.C. City Council passed a bill legalizing homosexual marriage in the District. It will be approved by Congress in the next few weeks.
With passage of this bill, the city will require Catholic Charities to let gay partners serve as foster parents. To do so, would have violated the Catholic Church's teachings on homosexuality.
The foster care children in this program are being transferred to the National Center for Children and Families.
Clearly, the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) agenda has trumped religious freedom and the First Amendment.
This violation of fundamental rights guaranteed in the First Amendment in the name of "gay civil rights" is an abomination and must not go unchallenged.
Congress has power over the city council in Washington, D.C. The city is not free to run roughshod over religious freedom without the consent of Congress. With a pro-LGBT House and Senate, the extremists can do pretty much what they want to violate religious liberty in the name of "civil rights."
Traditional Values Americans must remember this outrage in November. It's time to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C.
