Obama Leads The UN Gungrabber Pack!

Back in October of 2009, the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, publicly announced that the US WOULD support UN negotiations of an Arms Trade Treaty to regulate international gun trafficking. The Bush administration, you may remember, and, notably, former Permanent U.S. Representative to the United Nations, John Bolton, opposed negotiations of this treaty for years.

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has said: "Conventional arms transfers are a crucial national security concern for the United States, and we have always supported effective action to control the international transfer of arms. The United States is prepared to work hard for a strong international standard in this area."

The US then joined a vote, which was almost unanimous; to adopt a resolution, which would set a schedule, a timetable, on the proposed Arms Trade Treaty. Within that resolution was a proposal to finalize the accord in the year 2012.

Gun Owners in the US are gravely concerned over this move by the UN - and -- more importantly, by the Obama Regime, to support it. To many gun enthusiasts it is a dangerous submission of America's Constitution to "Global Governance" -- and there is a growing belief that it is an attempt by the Obama Regime to create private gun control laws it knows it cannot get through the US Congress. It doesn't take any imagination, at all, to quickly understand that this treaty would effectively cancel rights granted US citizens by the 2nd amendment to the US Constitution. Our right to "keep and bear arms" would no longer exist.

US gun rights supporters are up in arms - and with good reason. John Bolton, former Permanent U.S. Representative to the United Nations, fought the proposed treaty for quite a while. He has seen it up close and personally. Bolton, in remarks he made recently to Ginny Simone, managing editor of the National Rifle Associations' NRA News and host of the NRA's Daily News program, said the following:

"The administration is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there's no doubt - as was the case back over a decade ago - that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control."

Bolton continued:

"There's never been any doubt when these groups talk about saying they only want to prohibit illicit international trafficking in small arms and light weapons, it begs the whole question of what's legal and what's not legal. And many of the implications of these treaty negotiations are very much in their domestic application. So, whatever the appearance on the surface, there's no doubt that domestic firearm control is right at the top of their agenda."

Bolton went on to say: "After the treaty is approved and it comes into force, you will find out that it has this implication or that implication and it requires the Congress to adopt some measure that restricts ownership of firearms," he said. "The administration knows it cannot obtain this kind of legislation purely in a domestic context ... They will use an international agreement as an excuse to get domestically what they couldn't otherwise."

It turns out there are some seven countries pushing the UN Arms Treaty, Great Britain, Australia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Finland, Japan, and Kenya.

Interestingly, Great Britain has had a virtual explosion of violent crime since they all but banned guns back in 1997. Just a few months ago, the British press reported that England and Wales now have the highest violent crime in the European Union - a rate which, in fact, exceeds that of the United States and even hyper-violent South Africa. Mailonline reported: "In the decade following (the election of the Labor Party) in 1997, the number of recorded violent attacks soared by 77 percent to 1.158 million - more than two every minute."

It seems that Great Britain, with their near ban of gun ownership by private citizens, has a violent crime victimization rate of 2,034 per 100,000 residents. While here, in the, oh, so violent, USA, with our far less restrictive gun laws, we have a violence rate of only 466 crimes per 100,000 residents. Even South Africa's rate is lower, at 1,677 violent crimes per 100,000. You can read an exceptional article on this subject HERE.

In the land "down under," Australia, the Aussies are suffering an escalation in violent crimes as well. The Australia Institute of Criminology reports that assault alone occurs at a rate of 840 per 100,000 - a rate that increased dramatically since the Port Arthur ban.
You might find it interesting what the Aussies have to put up with now that firearms are nearly banned in their fair land. It is, indeed, a warning for their cousins, the Americans. "The Manly Daily" reported, back in October of 2009, that pursuant to the Australian Firearms Act of 1996:

"Northern Beaches Police will be turning up on the doorstep of every licensed gun owner in the area over the next four years to check their firearms are stored correctly.
Operation Aston follows the gun amnesty that ended on May 31 and will target guns stored incorrectly and the security of gun safes, Northern Beaches Commander Doreen Cruickshank said.
"Gun owners have a responsibility to ensure their weapon is safely stored at all times when not in use," Supt Cruickshank said.
"Licensing police will be attending the home of every licensed firearm owner in the northern beaches over the next four years to inspect every weapon and check the gun safe.
"Officers will be examining all gun safes to ensure they comply with the legislative requirements, particularly in relation to the standard and security of safes."
Supt Cruickshank reminded all legitimate owners that under the Firearms Act they must take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safekeeping of their firearms.
"It's especially important that weapons are stored in such a way as to limit the possibility of loss or theft, so they don't come into the possession of a person who isn't authorized to hold them," she said.
The maximum penalty for incorrect storage of a weapon is two years in jail. (You may read the article HERE. )

You might be interested to know this, as well: In Australia, for every firearm, a purchaser must obtain a Permit To Acquire. The first permit for each person has a mandatory 28 day delay before it is issued. In some states, such as Queensland, this is waived for second and subsequent firearms of the same class, whilst in others, it is not. For each firearm a "Genuine Reason" must be given, relating to pest control, hunting, target shooting, or collecting. Self-defense is not accepted as a reason for issuing a license.

THIS is where America is headed if the "gungrabbers" get their "reasonable gun control" laws. They know they cannot get those laws passed through CongressTODAY -- but they have an excellent chance to get them through the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

Any afront to the Constitution
written by Andrew Montalbano, January 15, 2010
Whether it is the 2nd Amendment, or any other part of the Bill of Rights that is a*surped by the United Nations -would be recieved with such a backlash every Neo-Marxist would cringe. Lets pretend for a momment that this "Arms Treaty" were to happen, and the 2nd Amendment was the first the UN would attack. Who would come for the guns? Do think the local cops would come for the guns? Would Federal Marshals come for the guns? Would American Troops come for the guns? None of the above would come because they took an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic (ie; the Neo-Marxists), and they are not stupid, orders or no orders.

The only folks foolish enough to try to get the guns would be UN troops, and there are not enough of them. They would have to go house to house to get them. The bodies would be stacking up on city streets worse than they are now in Haiti. I think this article is scary, and it is designed to do so. In the real world no politician would endorse this because the carnage would be too terrible.

Constitution?
written by JimPC, January 15, 2010
Can a right affirmed by the U.S. Constitution be infringed by a U.N. Treaty? If the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, I don't see how this could affect our rights inside our own country.

Actually, the U.N and Obama admin can do whatever they want. The rights in the Bill of Rights are not granted by the government, but are inherent in natural law. They cannot be abrogated. Thomas Jefferson, who was worth five million Obamas, a*serted that, as did all the founders.

They "can't"...look up Katrina! They did confiscate personal firearms.
Who will knock at your door? MERCENARIES! Where there is a dollar, there is someone willing to earn it.
Do not think for one moment that 'someone else' will come to your rescue. You will have to defend yourself and your family.
The Constitution has been constantly attacked since its inception. Our government is not protecting our rights, they are finding ways around them to control us. Slavery is not gone...it's called WELFARE smilies/sad.gif

JimPC raised an interesting question. One that I have pondered for a long time, even asked my States' Representatives about. If the Consitution truely is the Law of the Land, how can ANY Law pa*sed, that infringed or went against the Consitution, be applicable? To that effect, has anyone ever stood up and boldly said the Law was null and void, they will not comply, can't be made to comply and there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it? Or how about this, if some Federal agency comes to my house claiming I have broken the Law, never addressing themselves, showing hostile intent towards me, without warrant, would I be justified in administering lethal self defense? Simply, the Law in my State says that if I am faced with a violent situation and in fear of my life, it is justifiable. So in this matter, would my States' Law protect me? Would the Constitution of the United States protect my States' Constitution? There are alot of questions that need to be answered. We need to be asking them. Find out where your State stands on all of the unjustifiable actions of our Federal Government.

I have to agree with Andrew Montalbano

It would be a cold day in hell before I let someone walk on my rights like that. People would definately die. I do believe in certain amounts of control, i.e. people convicted of violent crimes like rape, murder etc should not be allowed to posses a firearm ever. Aside from that not only no. but hell no. I will fight like mad if I heard the UN or any other intinty was here grabbing our guns. There would definately be blood flowing by the gallons if that were to happen. It would be views as an invasion against our country. IE a war. If you do not value your Constitutional Rights then you should leave as this place is not meant for you. It is meant for those that want absolute freedom from oppression. In every country where guns have gone away that is what you get. Loss of freedom and severe oppression. Not to mention extreamily high rates of violent crime. Guns will always be here regaurdless of leagalities. Tere is this thing called a black market and boy would it flourish. Tyrants beware, taking my guns will get you killed. I AM an Oath Keeper.I implore you Please do not test that.

UN Gun grabbers

Andrew M:

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but the bodies piling up would not be the "blue tops". Have you forgotten about Katrina? Don't you remember how the local police when around confiscating guns from law abiding Americans, leaving them vulnerable to roving gangs of thugs. To add insult to injury, some to this day, have not had their lawful property returned to them. We ALL live (Canada included) in a benign POLICE STATE. If they want your guns they'll take your guns. Sure, there will be some "John Wayne" types screaming, " remember the Alamo" as they return fire. However, after the body count starts to climb, the rest will start having second thoughts and say things like, "I got a wife and kids to think about" before they finally put down their AR-15 and succumb to the new order. Sad but true. IMHO.

Andrew You might be right
written by Mojavegreen, January 16, 2010
No I didn't forget Katrina. However you forget that there were a hell of a lot of people that flat refused to give up their guns also. So yes you are right but you are also wrong with that regaurd. That disaster is a gives the government a good idea as to what they might expect with the rest of the country. Fact is it can go either way. We can either go quietly in to the night with out so much as a wimper or all hell can break loose. Back when we had the civil war and the possibly as far back as the revolutiary wars familes ack then were able to look at the big picture. As a result you had both adults and what we term in this day and age as kids going in to battle for their beliefs. Back then you were considered an adult at the age of 12. Hell there was no age limit back then that determined when a person became an adult. I think back then it all had to do with ones experiances. In this day and age we got more people that don't give a rats a*s about their rights as long as they dont get killed in the process they are perfectly happy with being sheeple, baa baa. I'm not one of those people. I doubt you are either. I do think that we both hope and prey that we never have to find out what will happen should that ever happen. I spent 10 years in the US Navy to support and defend the country and the Constitution of this country against all enemies both foriegn and domestic. Why do you think DHS gave a blanket wide report that declaired ALL veterans as Right Wing Extreamist that we should be considered a "national security risk" ? Although I am not an extreamist, they do know that there are people like myself who will step up to the plate should the situation require it and take care of bussiness. When it comes to my country, I don't play hide in the hole like an ostrache when it comes to its defense like some people. You don't have to be armed to be a threat to this country and our way of life. Just ask any politician. They're doing it jsut fine. I don't ever want to be put in the position of taking a life. I did that when I was in the military durring desert storm, it's not a good feeling, I don't give a dam(n) what anyone says. However if the situation warants it, I got no problems with doing just that either. I prey like hell that will never happen. Just because you exit the military dont mean your oath comes to an end. For a Veteran It is apart of being a true citizen to this country.

Has anyone asked about the implications of how the presidential decree signed by obama would effect the UNs ability to run this country( the decree I speak of was the rewriting of the law which now allows INTERPOL free access in USA)

No I havent. I am courious about it though. Just how much access they have. Do they have the authority to act with out a u.s. law enforcement agency member being with them? If not that could lead to some interesting events. Not to mention another cops like t v show......

The UN will come and take our guns. I don't think so. Let's see last count I had five hand guns, one pump shotgun one sniper rifle with 38 powered scope (no problem out to a 1000 yards) and one Yugo 7.65 mm.
plus one pair of generation 3 night vision goggles. A truck load of ammo and reloading equipment. Then add to that me being X Vietnam Vet who was a sniper.
Tell the UN to come on down and pick these up. I will be waiting.

For anyone looking to refernece the above comment regarding the free run of INTERPOL in the USA lread this.
The result of this "executive order 13524" allows for arrest, detention, search and seizure and a slew of other acts of authoritarian and arbitrary action against persons at any time and any place for any reason without just cause or burden of proof. A most suspicious aspect portrayed as reason for "executive order 13524" is to permit a foreign police organization INTERPOL to function and operate within US sovereign borders and territory, free of oversight and justification. It is in the most simple terms a complete breakdown and usurpation of natural and constitutional law.
