December 23, 2009 - A Phoenix man sought for the Parental Kidnapping of his nine year-old daughter was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals-led Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT), and Detectives with the Tempe Police Department at a residence in Phoenix. Earl Nelson, 35, was wanted by the Schenectady (New York) Police Department after it was alleged that Nelson traveled from Phoenix to New York, kidnapped his nine year-old daughter from her mother, and returned to Phoenix. December 21, 2009 - The United States Marshals Service San Diego Fugitive Task Force has joined the manhunt for Jesus Alejandro Arteaga. U.S. Marshals have filed a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for Arteaga.

Arteaga is wanted by the Chula Vista Police Department for the murder of Maribel Arteaga, a Customs and Border Protection officer, in front of her two children. Full Report

December 18, 2009 - The U. S. Marshals Service and the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force recently surpassed a monumental mark. "This month marks 1000 fugitive arrests for the task force," said Deputy U. S. Marshal Dewaine Allen. The Task Force began its work in November 2007, with a grant of more than $500,000. The grant was written and is administered by the Benton County Sheriff's Office, but funding is close to an end. Full Report

December 17, 2009 - Last night, an escapee from Tennessee and his wife were arrested by U.S. Marshals in east Phoenix, AZ. Keith Lee Whitling, age 41, and his wife, Melissa Jewel, age 37, were the targets of a drug investigation conducted in Erwin, Tennessee. The couple was allegedly involved in trading OxyContin for marijuana. Full Report
