"You Lie" Is Quote of The Year

We have our own quote of the year!
The Washington Times reports that Rep. Joe Wilson's shout of "You lie!" when Barack Obama said the health care bill would not cover illegal aliens is the quote of the year.

The Times said Yale professor Shapiro who releases the "Yale Book of Quotations" picks quotes that are famous, important or revealing of the spirit of the times. The quotes aren't necessarily the most eloquent or admirable.

There is another quote that is important and revealing of the spirit of the times.

It was made by Janet Napolitano, head of the Department of Homeland Security on November 13, 2009 when she said: "DHS has built more than 600 miles of border fencing."

This too was a lie. "Calling a single railroad rail strung out between two supports a fence doesn't pass the straight-face test," said Glenn Spencer of American Border Patrol. ABP's YouTube video, "This is not a fence" has been seen by more than 14,000 viewers.

 

The cover-up of the border fence by blacking out American Border Patrol's aerial survey work is one of the most important untold stories of 2009.
