 October 29, 2009 - Nearly 400 registered sex offenders got a surprise visit from a task force of over 20 agents from 10 area law enforcement agencies last month. The operation, dubbed "Knock-Knock", was led by the U.S. Marshals Service with the intent of verifying the addresses provided by convicted sex offenders during their initial or annual registration. Louisiana law requires convicted sex offenders to register with local law enforcement where they reside and work.

  October 28, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended wanted fugitive Jonathan Ward. Ward was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police on charges of armed robbery. Ward also had outstanding charges with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office for carrying a concealed weapon.  

  October 27, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service is warning the public today of a telephone scam involving callers falsely identifying themselves as U.S. Marshals employees. Typically, the fraudulent caller will identify the recipient of the call as the winner of a large amount of cash and will state that a processing fee must be paid before a Deputy U.S. Marshal will deliver the money. The U.S. Marshals Service is a federal law enforcement agency; it does not deliver monies on behalf of any entity unless it is part of a court order and it does not require the recipient of any proceeds to pay a delivery fee over the telephone.  

  October 25, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Department of State, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Phoenix Police Department, members of the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Lazar Yousif Lazar as he re-entered the United States . In March 2009 a warrant was issued by the Maricopa County Superior Court for the arrest of Lazar after he failed to appear for court proceedings related to the prior charges of First Degree Murder, Assisting a Criminal Street Gang, Aggravated Assault, and Robbery.
