Riverdale, Georgia: Docs 4 Patient Care is hosting a town hall meeting for all doctors and health care professionals Wednesday September 30th at Southern Regional Medical Center, 11 Upper Riverdale Road, Riverdale Georgia 30274. The meeting will be in the Educational Conference Center at 6pm.
There will be a video presentation by Representative Tom Price, MD. State Senator Judson Hill will also be in attendance.
Dr. Barry Zisholtz, a local surgeon and member of the Docs 4 Patient Care board of directors recently said, "I want this meeting to stress that we ALL want and NEED CHANGE!!! The health care professionals and the hospitals in rural America need change that our patients, docs, hospitals and all allied heath care professionals can live with!"
Docs 4 Patient Care is an Atlanta based not for profit organization founded in May of 2009 by Dr. Hal Scherz, a pediatric urologist with several Atlanta area offices. The organization now has members in every state and is experiencing rapid growth. Dr. Scherz will have a presentation to raise awareness of the current medical changes that have been proposed by the federal government.
According to Dr. Scherz, the goals of Docs 4 Patient Care include: The preservation of the doctor-patient relationship. To preserve the quality of care in America that will be defined by doctors and not bureaucrats. Improve access and affordability of insurance for all Americans. This will in turn reduce healthcare costs. Other goals include medical liability reform, the protection of medical information and a way for patients to be empowered to participate as consumers of healthcare dollars through the promotion of health savings accounts.
