Christian Convert, beaten, raped and India Will Deport her to Iran to Face possible Death unless case can be reopened by petition. Exclusive: RightSideNews Interviews Marzieh Hosseinpoor Imagine, if you can, being Iranian, being a young woman, being an educated young woman. Now imagine being that educated young woman, working to complete a higher degree in her education and conducting research in order to do so. Got the picture? Good, now add to that picture, that this woman's area of research is related to something so taboo, considered so unseemly by the Islamic regime, if discovered, as to be an immediate death sentence?
Well, not much of a stretch I suppose since we are talking about Iran, but even so. . . now imagine all that and add the last item . . . this educated young woman, working on research on a proscribed topic, converts to Christianity. What do you think are this woman's chance of life, much less survival, in Iran if discovered? RightSideNews became aware of Marzieh and her plight. We wanted to help, our contact with Marzieh is tentative, phone and email, but those are her life lines. We have asked Marzieh to tell us her story, and she has agreed to answer questions from RightSideNews as she tells it, take a look and see if you don't agree that this woman could use our help . . . From the Petition website, her story unfolds: Marzieh Hosseinpoor is a social activist. She graduated in 2001 from Roodehhen University. RSN: Where is this? Is it an Islamic University? Marzieh: Islamic Azad University is a private university which is run by Mr. Jasbi, who is part of mullah's regime and is nearby Tehran (Rodham) in Iran, This University has so many branches in each province of Iran. She was a social worker in Iran and she needed to conduct research to earn her degree. Her research was in connection to homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual people and also people who carry HIV virus. RSN: DOES Iran allow transsexual research? It seems that would not be allowed. Marzieh: "In September 2007, at Columbia University the Islamic Republic of Iran, president Ahmadinejad said "there are no homosexuals in Iran. NOT ONE." Homosexuality, transsexual, and the sexual diseases are taboo in Iran and the government would not like to admit it/discuss the issues at all. Islamic Republic is afraid to speak about HIV/AIDS also, because they don't want to show there are such problems in the Islamic Regime. Dr. Allayi brothers were doing research about HIV/AIDS in Iran and they were arrested and are in jail since last year. They were arrested by Islamic Republic because of this research on AIDS and Homosexuality in Iran." Marzieh managed an office of several social workers and was able to finish her school and research. She was popular among Christian people. She was arrested in 2002. She was beaten and tortured by the Iranian Islamic Regime police in jail for several days. In 2003 she escaped to India in hopes that the situation would improve if she was in hiding for a while. Marzieh became a Christian without the authority's permission. RSN: When did you become a Christian? Marzieh: I was familiar to Christianity in Iran when I was 18 years old and I was attending Sundays fellowship with my Christian friends with fear, but when I came to India I got more freedom to attend churches. I was baptized on Feb. 18th / 2005, in Afghan Church in New Delhi-India. The Iranian Islamic Regime spies found out about Marzieh's conversion to Christianity. They kidnapped her, they beat her and they stole her documents. RSN: From where did they kidnap you and where did they take you? What Documents were stolen? Were you put in jail? Marzieh: in august 2005, in Bangalore (south India), When I was coming out from my professor of university home. It was evening time, 3 persons of Islamic Regime they were sitting in a car and they were waiting for me and took me forcibly in the car and carried me out of Bangalore city in a forest where I did not know where is was. (What happened in the forest?) They pull me out of car and started to beat me and use so many bad worlds to me, and then 2 of them caught me strongly and one of them raped me. Another day after this happened from Iranian Islamic Association (they are working for intelligent service with support of Iranian embassy in India) came to my home and stole my passport, my research study and research findings my university documents, my computer hard drive, and some books I got from church. They kept me in Iranian Islamic Association in Bangalore. RSN: How did you escape your kidnappers? Marzieh: When they kept me in Iranian Islamic Association building ( which is they are using as a jail) to try to send me back to Iran by next day, I asked the security person to allow me go to toilet, from the window of toilet I escaped out of that building and went to train station to come to Delhi. -- She was forced to move from one city to another for her own safety from the Iranian spies. . From august 2005 up to now I don't have security in India from Iranian spies. She returned to Bangalore but was caught again. During the attempt to apprehend Marzieh, she was stabbed and hospitalized. . This happened in January 2007. RSN: Stabbed by whom, Iranian spies again? Marzieh: Yes, by Islamic spies. She had no other option but to apply for refugee status. In 2005 she requested serious support from UNHCR. RSN: Who is UNHCR? Marzieh: United Nation high commissioner for refugees in New Delhi (India). -- If she is deported to Iran her life will be in danger. Marzieh needs 2000 signatures to reopen her file. RSN: Why 2000 signatures, what law or court demands that? Marzieh: About this question you can ask from Iranian oppositions in Canada (Union of Persian students and human rights activities in exile) who wrote this petition for me. Mr. Aarabi Email address is: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it They want to ask United Nations to reopen my case and accept me as a refugee and send me to a save country as soon as possible under the rule of United Nation. RSN: How long do you have, Marzieh? What is the deadline for 2000 signatures? Marzieh: As soon as I obtain the needed 2000 signatures I can send it to UNHCR and ask the officers to reopen my case. Please consider Marzieh's plight, and if you are willing to help, all she asks for in way of support is a signature on a petition. That petition will represent either attaining her new "birth" certificate or her death warrant. Won't you please consider visiting the website set up with her petition and clicking to sign it. This one act on your part can make a difference. "All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." http://www.PetitionOnline.com/marziehh/petition.html Thank you, from Marzieh and from the editors of RightSideNews.com ------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately with all the social and political problems in the area, the elections, the riots, her file was closed on 18-May-2009. With no resolution she faces deportation back to Iran.

The Christian majority West continually turns their backs on their own people in support of Muslims. It is nothing short of pathetic.

In response to Christopherl:
Unfortunately, you're correct, and I truly believe that's because of something I've encountered in my own Christian family: the misguided belief that being a Christian means only thinking of good of everyone, never speaking ill of anyone, and never "pa*sing judgment". They think to deny the Muslims, or call their ideology what it is, is somehow "being un-Christian". However, the Bible cautions us to "be discerning" and to "test the spirits" - and tells us that we are to RESIST evil. And that hearing/seeing/speaking-no-evil stance is a cop-out. It's turning a blind eye to evil - and that's not resistance. Write comment
