August 13, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service recently participated in the first-ever worldwide manhunt for violent fugitives, providing investigative support to Interpol and Crime Stoppers International during Operation INFRA-RED - International Fugitive Round-up and Arrest - Red Notices. The cooperative effort in June involved law enforcement agencies from four continents with significant contributions by Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Jamaica, the United Kingdom and the United States.
August 12, 2009 - A joint investigation by the United States Marshals Service and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service lead to the arrest of Rusila Mara McMorran, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia. A federal felony warrant was issued against McMorran, charging her with sexual abuse of a minor - a 13-year-old boy.
August 11, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jose Castro in Bronx, New York. Castro was being sought on an arrest warrant charging him with Criminal Homicide, as well as other related offenses. On July 31, the York City Police Department investigated the fatal shooting of victim Pedro Baez. The attacker fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement personnel.
