July 24, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and officials from the DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Detention and Removal Operations (ICE-DRO) located Humberto Lerma-Velazco in Bullhead City, Arizona. He was apprehended in a coordinated effort by Bullhead City Police. Humberto Lerma-Velazco, 51, was wanted by authorities in Baja, California, Mexico in connection with a murder that occurred there in October of 2005.
July 23, 2009 - Tyjuan Pearson, 24 years of age, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Springfield Township Police Department. Pearson, who was considered armed and dangerous, was wanted in Kentucky by the Lexington Police Department for 1st Degree Assault that occurred on June 14th.
July 23, 2009 - Deputies and Officers from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Quadralis Watson outside a hotel in Blackshear, Georgia today. Watson was wanted for allegedly committing an assault and robbery in Waikiki.
July 23, 2009 - Brady Cormier was arrested today by U.S. Marshals, Avoyelles Parish Sheriffs Deputies, Louisiana State Police, and others in Marksville, LA. Cormier was wanted by Acadia Parish, St. Landry Parish, Scott PD, and Louisiana Parole and Probation for Burglary related charges and a Parole Violation. Further, Cormier may be facing Burglary related charges in Gueydan.
July 22, 2009 - More than twenty members of the U.S. Marshals Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) received awards today for exceptional leadership, investigative efforts, and contributions to the task force's operations throughout the country. The awards, presented every two years, honor members of the Department of Justice, Department of Treasury, and the Department of Homeland Security who represent the overall OCDETF mission with superior professionalism, investigative leadership, and spirit of the program.
July 21, 2009 - Former Fugitive of the Week Carlos Williams was apprehended on Cleveland's east side. Williams was profiled as the Fugitive of the Week this past April after he was named as a suspect in the armed robbery of the Rascal House Pizza shop in Euclid, Ohio. At the request of the Euclid Police Department, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force began an intense search for Williams.
July 20, 2009 - Jason Schalebaum, 26, was arrested in Deland, FL by members of the U.S. Marshals led Regional Fugitive Task Force. Schalebaum was arrested on a warrant issued by the New Durham, NH Police Department. The New Durham Police Department obtained the arrest warrant for the following charges: three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, two counts of simple assault and one count of reckless conduct, by placing another in danger.
July 17, 2009 - Investigators from the U.S. Marshals' Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) arrested Vernon Marcus Coleman, aka Jason Stevenson Parkinson and 'WU', at an apartment in north Atlanta. Coleman had been on the run for two years. On July 10, 2007, in the Northern District of Georgia, an indictment was affirmed and a warrant issued for Coleman for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
July 16, 2009 - Twenty-three year old Arturo Vasquez was arrested this morning by U.S. Marshals in the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, TX. Vasquez was wanted for allegedly stealing (by way of credit card fraud) eight-thousand dollars worth of merchandise from Home Depot in Lafayette; four-thousand dollars from Home Depot in Broussard; and four-thousand dollars from Home Depot in Alexandria. Vasquez is also under investigation for similar crimes in other cities in Louisiana to include Lake Charles and Monroe.
July 16, 2009 - Fugitive DeCharles Stephens thought that he could outrun the long arm of the law by hiding in Arizona. Today, he found out the hard way that the reach of the U.S. Marshals Service has no boundaries. Stephens was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Glendale, Arizona. On June 11, Stephens escaped from a City of Cleveland prisoner van as he was being transported between the city jail and the Cleveland House of Corrections. Stephens was in custody on charges of attempted murder with a firearm.
July 15, 2009 - The Western District of Louisiana's Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette arrested thirty-seven year old Jack Copeland in Lafayette. Copeland was Wanted in Shelby County Alabama for 2nd Degree Sodomy and 2nd Degree Rape. Further, Coleman has outstanding warrants in Bay County, Florida for Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and two counts of Domestic Battery (Felony).
July 14, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Michael R. Regan announced today the arrest of Micky Louis Mayon, who was being sought by local authorities in Dauphin County for his alleged role in a criminal incident in April 2007. This case captured a significant amount of media attention, to include the television program America's Most Wanted.
July 13, 2009 - The Eastern District of Louisiana (E/LA) United States Marshals Service is reaching out to the Hollygrove Community through the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.) by sponsoring a summer camp in conjunction with the Trinity Christian Community Center (TCC) from July 13-17, 2009, at 3908 Joliet St. New Orleans, LA.
July 10, 2009 - Ezekiel Ochoa was arrested by officers of the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force from the Smith County DA's Office the Texas Rangers and the U.S. Marshals Service. Ochoa was wanted out of Cherokee County Georgia on a warrant for rape. The warrant was issued on June 29th in Cherokee County Georgia.
