As the hearings on Supreme Court nominee Sonya Sotomayor proceed the controversy focuses on whether she is a "judicial activist" or whether everyone is a judicial activist as the demagogic Democrats maintain. What the hearings have indisputably revealed is that she is a judicial liar. This turns out to be a legal version of the Trinity church caper. It's easy to see how a President who spent twenty years at the feet of a spiritual adviser who is an anti-Semitic racist and didn't hear a word he said would be attracted to a woman who was the legal brains behind a racist organization -- the Puerto Rican Legal Defense Fund -- and claims to be color blind.

Did you say that Hispanic Women are wiser than white males? My words did. Right. Just as the President who is the process of raising taxes on everyone promised not to, so Sotomayor is promising to be guided only by the law. Believe this and you are a Democrat, and will believe anything.

BTW Was anyone else impressed by Sotomayor's ignorance when she claimed with utter certainty to know what "legal realism" means and then said it means to interpret the law according to the real world -- or words to that effect. Even I, as someone who never took a law class in his life, know that the school of legal realism is associated with Oliver Wendell Holmes and holds that the law is what judges make it.

Sotomayor is a piece of work. She will become the next Supreme Court Justice because she is a very cool liar.
