In George Orwell's prophetic book 1984, a dictatorship operates a Ministry of Truth. The goal of the Ministry of Truth is to disseminate lies from the dictatorship to the masses and to destroy factual information that deviates from Big Brother's agenda.
In this dictatorship, known as Oceania, anyone who differs with Big Brother's political views has committed a "thought crime" and will be arrested, tortured and killed by the Thought Police. The Ministry of Love carries out these tortures.
The American Broadcasting Network has apparently volunteered to become President Obama's own personal Ministry of Truth.ABC is helping President Obama spread disinformation about his nationalized health care plan to the masses throughout the next few months. Last night, ABC hosted an hour-long special in the East Room of the White House. After this prime-time special, ABC held a "Townhall meeting" allegedly to give Americans a chance to react to Obama's nationalized health care plan.
In addition, ABC will push nationalized health care on Good Morning America, World News, Nightline and on the ABC web site.
ABC has produced this infomercial for Obama - and rejected any attempts by Republicans to purchase ads to rebut Obama's shaded statements. What does ABC fear - a thought crime committed by Republicans?
Fortunately, we do not yet live in Oceania and can still access the truth about socialized medicine without having to go through Obama's Ministry of Truth.
