Agriculture Amnesty Bailout Bill (AgJOBS) Reintroduced in Congress
With the California unemployment rate at 11.2%, one of the highest in the nation, Sen. Feinstein seems intent on adding "fuel to the fire". She apparently has no regard for her state's currently unemployed and wants to heap another 2 million under educated, social service resource draining, taxpayer dependent job competitors onto the already devastated California economy. She cites a "shortage" of agricultural/farm labor as one justification for this bill. Sen. Feinstein apparently has little or no concern for her state's current legal citizens' plight.
On Thursday, May 14, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Representative Adam Putnam (R-FL) reintroduced the Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits and Security (AgJOBS) Act. AgJOBS would grant amnesty to at least 2 million illegal alien agricultural workers and "reform" the H-2A temporary agricultural worker program to allow employers easier access to cheap foreign labor. While actual text of the bill hasn't yet been made public, it appears that the bill will be equivalent to versions Congress has debated in the past. (See FAIR's Legislative Analysis of the 2007 Version of AgJOBS).
Feinstein gave an extensive speech on the Senate floor last Thursday morning in support of AgJOBS, claiming that Congress needs to pass her amnesty bill because of "a farm emergency in this country" brought about by "the absence of farm labor." [Again, apparently she is not concerned with the 11.2% unemployed in her state] These claims ignore numerous, recent news reports that California agriculture is suffering from severe drought, financial downturn and unemployment. (See e.g. The New York Times, Feb. 21, 2009). [Well, of course she ignores it! How else would you expect her to make her point?] Nevertheless, Senator Feinstein used her floor time to resurrect previously told stories about farmers hurt by worker shortages, including Lake County, California pear farmer Toni Scully. (Senator Feinstein's Floor Speech, May 14, 2009). Scully's story was first told in 2006, and Feinstein "used a three-year-old photo of Scully to help make her case." (The Miami Herald, May 14, 2009). [What a shocker, a politician using old, outdated, irrelevant or even fabricated information to push an agenda? NO, say it isn't so! /sarcasm off]
Media reports noted that special interest farm groups are already lining up to support AgJOBS, including the United Farm Workers of America and the California Farm Bureau Federation. (Id.). It is unclear as to whether Congressional leadership intends to move the legislation. In the past, Senator Feinstein has pushed Congressional Leadership to include AgJOBS in any "comprehensive" immigration reform package. (Senator Feinstein Press Release, May 17, 2007).
Sen. Feinstein needs to spend a bit more time worrying about the sweetheart contracts her husband's companies are getting from the Stimulous Package Bail Outs and less about getting another 2 million illegal aliens amnesty so they can vote for her next election.

The schools(and not just in the L.A. school district either)are atrocious, catering to these illegal alien offspring who many times cannot even speak English properly but I guess that is ok, because there seems to be no pressure on them(or their parents)to learn how to speak English since there is so much catering to them in Spanish around here from billboards to shopping to even telemarketers calling speaking Spanish. By the way, my heritage is Hispanic(from Mexico and Spain)but I really resent when I get telemarketing calls in Spanish or certain types of mail in Spanish just because I have a Hispanic surname. I don't speak Spanish fluently, but even if I did, why should I get this stuff in Spanish when we are NOT in Mexico?? This is the United States of America and I fear for this country and especially for California that we are slowly losing what we know to people who want to turn this area into where they came from. We're not going to put up with it!!

It's hard to blame the children, but my son is getting a second cla*s education in this overcrowded chaos called a school. It shows our borders are not secure, that our country has been overwhelmed by the negligence of our corrupt politicians catering to corporate greed. Coming back to Southern California has turned me into an advocate, for the pro-sovereignty, anti-illegal alien organizations. Los Angeles has turned into a sewer of criminal aliens running rampant with little or no prosecution, owing to a Sanctuary city policy initiated in San Francisco by Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Filthy streets scattered with fast food wrappers, clogging drains, illegal alien gang infestation is not the place not to bring up children. City councilor Andronovich stated that $ 11. billion can be attributed to every illegal alien, who breaks into America, get a free lunch on the taxpayers in Los Angeles county. It's run by a a corrupt mayor, who is directed by an even worse bunch of crooked legislators in Sacramento. This ominous pestilence of corruption, has been spreading across the country for many decades..
LA has become a breeding ground for a society, revolving slowly into a banana republic. The true Angeleno's are hardly aware that their taxes are being drained by illegal aliens and their extended families, swarming here to take advantage of Americans. Legal Los Angeles inhabitants needs to demand a Permanent E-Verify from their government. The system will uncover the illegal workers, opening job opportunities for US workers. Over a period of time rejected by business and not able to find work, the exodus by ATTRITION will begin. American wages must go up and perhaps the elitists, will see through their avarice that American industry is better than importing cheap labor or exporting jobs overseas. Citizens and legal residents must do their part, because they have the ultimate power to--CHANGE THE FUTURE--because otherwise we will sink in a quagmire of multiculturalism, balkanization that has caused ma*sive unrest and demonstrations in Europe. If we allow another AMNESTY our country will turn into a seething cauldron of frustration and anger in a growing OVERPOPULATED NATION. When billions of your tax dollars are spent to pacify open border entities, its up to the American public to fight back. Demand E-Verify from your cringing Senators http://www.senate.gov and Congressman at (202) 224-3121 who see you as a--CASHCOW-- for illegal foreign labor and corrupt foreign governments. IMMIGRATION LAWS ARE NOT BROKEN, JUST NOT ENFORCED! So enforce the 1986 Simpson/Mazzoli bill, the Immigration Reform & Control Act as enacted.
