May 15, 2009 -
Southern District of Ohio United States Marshal James Wahlrab, Northern District of Ohio United States Marshal Peter Elliott, and Columbus Division of Police Chief Walter Distelzweig announce the arrest of murder suspect George Holston III. Holston was arrested at a home in Canton, OH. Holston is charged with the murder of Gerald Fuller. According to the criminal complaint, on December 20, 2008, Holston and the victim got into an altercation at a home on in Columbus. Holston allegedly took out a handgun and shot the victim in the chest. Holston was formally charged with the murder on December 22, 2008, and he was one of the Central Ohio Crime Stoppers 10 most wanted fugitives.
May 14, 2009 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force had an early morning start after traveling from Tallahassee, FL to Eastpoint, FL in search of Anthony Joseph Erario. Erario was wanted by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in Florida for the offense of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child under the Age of 12. Task Force members located the 63 year old Erario at a residence in Franklin County where he was arrested by task force members without incident.
May 14, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Service is pleased to announce that fugitive John Baldasaro was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in New York City. Baldasaro was located in Manhattan, NY and arrested on numerous outstanding warrants from throughout New England. The investigation by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force started after being contacted by the Chesterfield (NH) Police Department. The Chesterfield Police Department stated that someone had impersonated a U.S. Marshal to kidnap and rob multiple victims. This suspect was later identified as John Baldasaro.
May 14, 2009 - A man wanted by NYPD for homicide was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force based in Roanoke and the Roanoke Police Department. Hector Barrington-Stephenson, 29, from Bronx, New York, was arrested without incident in Roanoke. Barrington-Stephenson was wanted by NYPD on outstanding warrants for homicide, criminal possession of a firearm, drug distribution and felony assault from another alleged shooting incident in New York.
May 13, 2009 - United States Marshal Federico L. Rocha of the Northern District of California announced the arrest of Juan Morales Jauregui. On May 7, 2009 Juaregui, age 38, was arrested in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico on a federal arrest warrant for violation of 18 U.S.C 1073 (Flight to avoid prosecution). Jauregui was transported to a prison in Mexico City where he will undergo extradition proceedings to the United States.
May 13, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) arrested Christopher Lyons, 46, in the area of Country Club and Juanita Ave in Mesa. Lyons was wanted by the Arizona Department of Corrections for violating the conditions of his parole, after having been convicted of failing to register as a Sex Offender.
May 13, 2009 - The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 32 year-old Courtney Givan in Cincinnati, Ohio. Givan is accused of shooting Jervarion Wright at an apartment complex in Montgomery, Alabama on May 09, 2009. Givan has a lengthy criminal record that includes felony assaults and robberies.
May 12, 2009 - Luis Sanchez Jr., age 21, was arrested this morning by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Newark Police Department. SOFAST is a team of law enforcement officers led by the United States Marshals Service. An arrest warrant for Sanchez was issued in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 11, 2009 for Rape of a Child, Distributing Obscene Material to a Minor, two counts of Enticing a Child Under 16, Indecent Exposure, and Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14.
May 12, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the Leon County Sheriff's Department in Tallahassee, Florida was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, MACE Task Force, and Hinesville Police in Hinesville, Georgia on May 10, 2009.
May 12, 2009 - A fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Georgia and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and SCMPD Patrol units on May 10 in Savannah, Georgia.
May 11, 2009 - Clifford Bart Dunbar, 48, of Austin was arrested over the weekend without incident by the U.S. Marshals in Grand Rapids, Mich. after Dunbar attempted to evade arrest by jumping out of a 3rd floor apartment window. A joint investigation by the Austin Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force determined Dunbar was under investigation by Austin Police Department for his alleged involvement in a recent sexual assault. Dunbar was additionally sought by authorities for allegedly violating his Texas parole last month.
May 08, 2009 - A man wanted by Bedford County authorities for the attempted murder of a Bedford City Police officer was arrested this afternoon in Fayetteville, NC. Brian Aubrey Burnette, 31, was charged by the Bedford City Police on April 17 with the attempted capital murder of a detective who was attempting to arrest him on outstanding felony warrants. Burnette allegedly stuck the officer with his vehicle while fleeing.
