Obama Lawyer Sticks to Ban on Muslim Scholar
A lawyer arguing on behalf of the Obama administration on Tuesday echoed Bush administration policies to back a decision to deny one of Europe's leading Muslim intellectuals entry to the United States. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Jones told a U.S. federal appeals court panel that they should uphold a decision to bar Swiss Muslim Tariq Ramadan, an Oxford University professor and a vocal critic of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, from entering the United States. . . .LINK

I'm loath to do it, but I gotta say it: Good job, B. Hussein O.!
And then he goes and spoils it all by saying something stupid, like:
Behind Obama's [next] Speech to the Muslim World
When President Obama visits Turkey early next month, some observers are expecting he will use the occasion to deliver on his promise to deliver a major foreign policy speech from a Muslim nation in his first 100 days. But indications are that he will not give the speech in Turkey. The White House and State Department have not yet decided on the location for the speech, which is meant to undo some of the damage done to America's image in the Muslim world during the George W. Bush Administration. . . .
There might be something good in this article, but with those words in the first paragraph, it turned me off completely. How does the Muslim world's good opinion of us change what Muhammad taught the Believers 1400 years ago?
The End of the Global War on Terror (Washington Post)
The end of the Global War on Terror -- or at least the use of that phrase -- has been codified at the Pentagon. Reports that the phrase was being retired have been circulating for some time among senior administration officials, and this morning speechwriters and other staff were notified via this e-mail to use "Overseas Contingency Operation" instead. . . .
More gobbledygook from Washington. God forbid we should ever call it what it is: The War to Save Our Culture, Our Humanity, Our Freedoms.
ISA: Fairfax Christian School Responds (Snappedshot)
. . . Unfortunately, I think the political reality on the ground here is that ISA is getting special consideration that would not otherwise be available to other schools in the County. The Planning Commission has acted in a way that makes it patently obvious that they are advocating this expansion [of the Islamic Saudi Academy], in a way that I just can't see them doing for any other entity.
Which leaves the other schools at the back of the proverbial bus. . . .
Extremists Use "Civil Rights" Group Front to Push Agenda (Investigative Project)
Hatemongering vs. extremism
Groups like CAIR deny the very existence of radical Islam and blame the problem on "hatemongers." I am sorry to tell Mr. Ayloush that the primary factor causing an image problem for Islam today is the existence of rampant Islamic terrorism and extremism. CAIR says that the term "Islamic terrorist" is racist and that terrorism has no religion. I wish it he could have convinced the 19 Muslim hijackers on Sept. 11 or the four U.K. Muslims who bombed a London subway in July 2005 or any of those responsible for more than 50,000 attacks carried in the name of Islam. All of these were Islamic terrorists motivated by their particular belief in Islam. . . .

"In the West, we are used to thinking that Israel cannot survive without the help of Europe and the United States. Tonight I say to you: maybe we should start wondering whether we in Europe and the United States can survive if we allow the terrorists to succeed in Israel.
"In this new century, the "West" is no longer a matter of geography. The West is defined by societies committed to freedom and democracy. That at least is how the terrorists see it. And if we are serious about meeting this challenge, we would expand the only military alliance committed to the defense of the West to include those on the front lines of this war. That means bringing countries such as Israel into NATO.
"My friends, I do not pretend to have all the answers to Gaza this evening. But I do know this: The free world makes a terrible mistake if we deceive ourselves into thinking this is not our fight." . . .
I often hear that Fox News has sold out to the Saudis, which is why we don't hear anything about the jihad threat. I've no idea if that is true, but this speech tells me it's not.
CIA Terror Fears Over British Pakistanis (SKYNEWS)
[Translated: CIA agents are afraid that the British Pakistanis represent a terrorist threat to the USA.]
US fears that future attacks on America are likely to be carried out by Muslims from the UK may be boosting surveillance of British Pakistanis. [See above translation.]
He said: "There is a very acute threat, especially from the South Asian community [translated: Muslims from Pakistan], which has been radicalised over several decades (and) has direct ties back to South Asia [translated: Afghanistan], where the core of al Qaeda is believed to be hiding.
