Right Side News reports from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency and the border activity on or near the Mexican border. Tons of marijuana and large quantities of cocaine and other drugs are stopped from entering our homeland. One must also wonder just how much is getting to our streets. Our own Federal government can secure a country like Iraq, but can not secure our own border. We appreciate the great work our border agents are doing and am certain that each one would support military support and a big tall, strong fence!
Border Patrol Agents in South Texas Seize Ton of Marijuana

McAllen, Texas - Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen, Texas Border Patrol station seized more than 2,500 pounds of marijuana in two separate seizures in Abram and Hidalgo, Texas.
Yesterday evening, Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen station encountered two vehicles, a blue 1983 Ford pickup truck and a green and gold 1993 Doge pickup truck in Abram, Texas. As the agents approached, the vehicles occupants absconded, abandoning both vehicles. Agents discovered the vehicles were loaded with marijuana, totaling more than 1,410 pounds.

Border Patrol agents in McAllen, Texas were able to stop two large vehicle and seize more than $2 million worth of marijuana.
In a separate incident, agents observed a 1999 Ford Minivan leaving the area adjacent the Rio Grande River at a high rate of speed. Upon conducting a vehicle stop, agents discovered that the vehicle was loaded with over half a ton of marijuana. Agents arrested both occupants of the vehicle, both of which were Mexican Nationals, and seized approximately 1,175 pounds of Marijuana.
The combined weight for both seizures totaled more than 2,580 pounds with an estimated valued at $2,070,480. The Drug Enforcement Administration took custody of both cases, which remain under investigation.
