As a possible target, reading this did not make me happy. Just think of it; Americans, including law enforcement, must now fear being attacked by a foreign force in their own country.

Here we are, facing a situation on our border that experts compare to Iraq and our government still refuses to protect us.

American Border Patrol works right on the border in a major smuggling corridor. We report the truth to the American People. We also perform video surveillance over the Internet. There is no doubt that we have stopped lots of drugs from coming into the country.

Up to now it has been sort of a game of hide-and-seek, but things are changing. In the past month we have had direct confrontations with the smugglers.

On June 5 one of our employees was almost run down by a smuggler. The next day he was offered a bribe to let the smugglers cross our ranch.

On June 30 and July 1 two of ABP’s all terrain vehicles caught fire shortly after being started. A detailed inspection by a Yamaha dealer found that some sort of incendiary device that had been attached to the exhaust pipe most likely started the fire.

The insurance company called it sabotage and will cover the loss.

Now we learn from Stratfor that Mexican drug cartels are going to begin targeting Americans. Could this include American Border Patrol?

Our government is pretending to protect us, while we face possible attack. To the east of ABP’s ranch Jack Ladd’s ranch runs along ten miles of border. The new fence installed by the Border Patrol at great expense has done little to stop the flood. Why? Because it was designed to fail.

Some months ago the Border Patrol said seven miles of new higher fence would be constructed between the San Pedro River and the Coronado National Monument, including ½ mile of border on ABP’s ranch (The ranch is actually owned by an LLC managed by Glenn Spencer). Because part of the land was not included in the Roosevelt Reserve, the land owner, Alan C. Nelson, LLC, negotiated a sale of about two acres to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The sale was to be have been completed around of the first of May, but is now stalled. We have been told that the contract for the fence has been let, but for some reason construction has been held up, presumably by the Army Corps.

So the border war escalates and American Border Patrol may be a target of a Mexican drug cartel. But where is our government? Sitting on its hands. How long will the American People put up with this betrayal? What will it take to get the government to move? Do I have to be lying in a pool of blood on my own property for the government to take the situation seriously?
