Wholesale death : "In a synchronized fashion (in Culiacan) and within a lapse of eight minutes, an armed commando of at least fifteen men put twelve persons to death, including two Culiacan police commanders and one officer."

The homicides began at an auto shop which services police units. There, the thugs killed nine men, including a father and son who were in the Univ. of Sinaloa faculty. Five minutes later and six streets down, almost in front of the state police facility, a commander from that agency and another agent were killed by gangsters. Two streets further down, another commander and an agent who were chasing the thugs were attacked by a group who was protecting the main groups retreat. That commander also died.
- Yesterday at dawn in Chihuahua City (the states capital) some eight men armed with assault rifles burst into the home of a ministerial police commander. He was taken to the garage and there they shot him on various occasions on his body and head. Two other homicides took place in Ciudad Juarez and one other at the town of Guadalupe y Calvo (southern Chih.)
- Also in Chihuahua City, a narcoshootout took place Thursday afternoon; armed groups used high power firearms and fragmentation grenades, on of which caused a light truck with a person inside to explode.
- In Juarez, an on-duty city police traffic officer on a motorcycle was shot from behind and hit at least five times. Hes in critical condition at a local hospital.

- At the El Pango ranch located at San Pedro de la Cueva, Sonora ( a town some 75 mi. ENE from Hermosillo) Mex. military personnel located a clandestine airstrip and arrested six men in possession of hundreds of rounds of ammo, seven vehicles and nine firearms.
- At least eleven city police officers have resigned from their jobs with the Agua Prieta, Sonora, Police Dept. (Agua Prieta is just across from Douglas, AZ). The resignations are because of fear of being killed. In the last three weeks two officers of that department have been slain and two others have been wounded.
- An unnamed Mexican citizen was arrested at the international border crossing at Nogales, AZ. The car he was driving across the border was found to have 47 lbs. (21.33 kgs.) of heroin between the rear bumper and the trunk.

- In San Nicolas, Nuevo Leon (Monterrey metro area), city police detained twenty-seven undocumented aliens, including two minors, riding on the wagons of a freight train. Twelve were from Honduras, eight from Guatemala, one from El Salvador; six others claimed Mexican citizenship but were unable to prove it.
In San Cristobal, Chiapas, seven more undocumented Guatemalans & Salvadorans were detained by city police.

Norte (Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua) 7/11/08
The bodies of five persons were found yesterday in various areas of Ciudad Juarez. Most had been shot and at least one was found wrapped in bed covers.

In Cancun, Quintana Roo, yesterday afternoon (Thurs.) a strongly armed group surrounded and forcibly carried off Elmer Merida, a Cancun police commander.

Reports from locals led area officials to the bodies of three men on the highway leading to the town of Danli. (east of Tegucigalpa) They all had their hands tied behind their backs and had been shot multiple times at close range; but all three had also had their eyes pulled out and their ears cut off.
